Third Person POV:

The moment Rhiannon, Will and Jem stepped foot back into the Institute they could feel the change of mood in the air. It was like stepping into a room and all the air being sucked out of you, without any advance warning. Rhiannon side glanced at both boys, before walking down the stairs to find Charlotte. She had been irritated with both of them since leaving the City of Bones. Why? She wasn't quite sure.

"Great, your back!" Tessa exclaimed upon seeing her sister, Will and Jem "We need to talk. About Nate."

"Why is he dead? Please tell me he is dead?" Rhiannon stated, making Will and Jem both snort in the most ungentlemanly like fashion.

Tessa huffed rolling her eyes, "Unfortunately for you, no he is not."

"Well damn it all to hell then." Rhiannon sighed, moving past her sister and going up the stairs towards her room to change. She could really care less about Nathaniel right now. Not with everything else on her mind.

"I think he regrets it, you know!" Tessa called up after her. Rhiannon stopped dead in her tracks about half way up the stairs to the second floor.

"If you think that then you obviously do not know him very well!" Rhiannon hissed. "Nathaniel never regrets anything he does. Why can't you see that?"

"Why can't you move past this?" Tessa questioned.

"When your brother rapes and beats you, then you can tell me how long it takes for a person to get over that." Rhiannon hissed, her blood boiling as her anger is rising. "You could never understand what it is like to have that happen to you. And you never will, because girls like you are to dainty to know to the true horrors of this world."

And with that Rhiannon practically bounded up the rest of the steps to her room, not wanting to hear any more of Tessa's badgering. And she could be in the presence of Will and Jem any longer. The images of that night swirling in my mind.

Will's POV:

"What were you thinking?!" I quickly asked. "You know this hasn't been easy for her!"

Tessa's shoulders slumped forward and sighed, "She needs to overcome it and get her head in the game if she want's to defeat The Magister."

"Well we are not going to do that without finding out who he is first." Jem stated, crossing his arm over his chest. I rolled my eyes and could feel the need to get away ever more present.

"Where is Charlotte?" I questioned.

"In the library." Tessa sighed, rolling her shoulders back. The tension radiating off of her.

"Great," I muttered, moving around her and walking down the hallway towards the library. My thoughts swirled around in my head, moving from Rhiannon to Tessa to Nathaniel Grey. The memories of that night seeping to the forefront of my mind. Once I got closer to the library I heard hushed whispering.

When I poked my head around the corner, Henry and Charlotte were sitting by the fireplace hunched over something. What I could not tell. I hated to interrupt them, but I thought she would like to know we were back. I lightly knocked on the door, and both Henry and Charlotte's heads lifted in my direction.

"Ah your back! How did it go? Did you learn anything new and relevant?" Charlotte questioned as Henry went back to what he was doing.

"It appears that he was an orphan until he was adopted by John and Anne Shade." I explained. "Both who was killed by the Clave sometime after 1815."

"Where is Jem and Rhiannon?" Charlotte questioned, and with that Henry perked up at the mention of Rhiannon.

"I assume Jem is either in the training room, with Tessa or in his room. Rhiannon, after having a run in with Tessa is fuming in her room." I replied, the self hatred seeping deeper into my skin.

"What do you mean run in with Tessa?" Henry questioned.

"Tessa wants her to move on from what happened with Nathaniel." I answered "Though I think as long as he is here she will never move on, and even if he does leave here I don't think she will be moving on anytime soon."

"It's been what a week since it happened? That is not enough time for someone to get over something like that, and I don't think it is right for Tessa to ask that of her." Henry muttered, standing up. "I will be down in my lab."

And with that Henry left Charlotte and I to our own devices.

"He really cares for her doesn't he? Like a father would a daughter." I spoke up after a moment of silence between us.

"Yes, he helped her sort out a few things regarding two people very close to her." she muttered, "Henry was beyond angry when he found out what Nathaniel did. He was ready to murder him on the spot when he arrived here."

"Do you mean me and Jem?" I questioned, already dreading the answer. Charlotte's eyes locked with mine.

"Did something happen while the three of you where out?" she questioned. My blood running slightly cold.
