Rhiannon's POV:

I laid awake starring at the ceiling most of the night, not being able to sleep. Finally sometime around 2 in the morning I decided to just say damn it all to hell, and get up out of the warm bed. I slipped on my robe and tightly wrapped it around myself. Thanking the Lord that it was still warm. I quietly opened the door to my room and slipped into the hallway. Hoping no one would be awake at this hour.

I made my way down the hallway and down the stairs to the main floor of the Institute. I walked by Tessa's room and Jem's which was right across the hall. I could hear Jem lightly playing his violin and I smiled to myself, but did not dare to interrupt him for he played beautifully. I took a few more steps and stopped dead in my tracks.

"Oh Nate," a soft voice giggled. I felt my stomach churn at the sound. I knew who the voice belonged to like it was the back of my hand. Jessamine. The one person who was so misunderstood in this place. She only showed her true colors with me, when we were alone. I knew that for certain. To everyone else she was just a whiney spoiled brat who did not care one bit about being a Shadowhunter. But with me, she was kind caring and wanted to spread her wings.

"I need you to help me," Nate whispered. "I need to have an informant in this place. Do you think you can help me?"

"And why would I want to?" Jessamine asked.

"Because I can get you out of here, Jessie." Nate whispered, and I can hear the smile in his voice. He was using her, that much I can tell. However, I also knew that Jessamine might be a lot of things but a fool was not one of those things. But I could be wrong. Jessamine was always full of surprises.

"Okay," Jessamine sounded, I rolled my eyes and sighed. I forced my feet to keep moving down the hallway not wanting here anymore of the conversation between Jessamine and my brother.

I made my way into the kitchen where a small fire crackled and popped in the fireplace. My eyes roamed the room until they landed onto a plate of cookies that sat on the counter. I smiled to myself and grabbed a cookie off the plate and bite into it.

"mmm......still warm." I whispered.

"Should be just made them." A voice sounded, scaring me half to death. I turn around and my eyes locked with Sophie. "You can have as many as you like."

"Thanks Sophie," I smiled, "Why are you making cookies at 2 in the morning?"

"Why are you eating said cookie at 2 in the morning?" she retorted with a smile on her face.

"Good point," I muttered, grabbing like five more cookies and making my way out of the kitchen. "These are very good by the way, I may request more of these in the future."

"I would not doubt it," she laughed. I smiled and left Sophie to her own devices.

I hummed to myself as I walked back up the stairs and into my room, silently closing the door behind me. When I turned around I about dropped all the cookies in my hand. Will stood looking out the window.

"Will?" I stated, making him turn towards me.

"Is that cookies?" he asked, eyeing the food in my hands. I nodded and handed him a couple.

"Sophie made some." I whispered. "There still warm."

"Thanks." Will smiled, biting into one.
