"Did something happen while the three of you where out?" Charlotte questioned Will. By the look on his face something had but Charlotte doubted he would share that with her. "If something did then you have a choice. Either talk it out or resent not settling things with two people you really care about."
Will turned away and stretched out his arms. "Do you think she would be better off with Jem?"
"What, no." Charlotte shook her head, "You both deserve to be happy with each other. Yes I can tell Jem is protective of her and Tessa both. And he has every reason to be."
Will sighed and turned away from her. Knowing the long road ahead of him.
Rhiannon's POV:
"Sophie?" I muttered, as she moved around me and into the room. "What on earth is the matter?"
"You need to choose." she said after what seemed like forever.
"Choose what, exactly?" I asked, confused even more.
"Between Master Will and Master Jem." she replied with a little more confidence then before. I felt a sudden drop in the pit of my stomach.
"Trust me, I know Sophie." I muttered after a moment. Though my mind swirling with what any business it was of hers what went on in my life. Who I spent my time with was truly none of her concern, nor my sisters, nor that rat who we shared a last name with. It was no one's other then my own. Though Sophie was right I needed to choose. But as I stood here pondering, my mind played the interactions between Will and Tessa and Jem and Tessa.
My sister had been spending just as much time with both boys as I had, and she had been looking at Will differently then I would have liked. I could tell the girl was definitely interested in him as she was Jem. Which only made my blood pressure rise.
"If it were me, I would pick Master Jem." Sophie said, interrupting my thoughts.
"Can I ask you something, Sophie?" I questioned, walking to the edge of the bed and sitting down. Sophie shook her head yes so I continued, "Have you noticed the way Tessa looks about both Master Jem and Master Will?"
Sophie thought for a moment before answering, "I have noticed a slight change in her yes, towards both of them. However, she has been more concerned about your brother then anything else."
"Do you think both would be better off without me in their lives?" I went on further ignoring her comment about Nathaniel. "Like if I fell off a cliff do you think they would be sad or heartbroken?"
"Why are you asking such absurd questions! You and I both know that they care about you very much! They would be destroyed that you were gone." Sophie shouted, startling me. I never heard her raise her voice since Tessa and I arrived at the Institute. "I will not hear anymore of such talk, do you hear me?!"
I shook my head in understanding, before Sophie huffed and left my room leaving me in utter awe.
Sophie's POV:
I walked down the hall, not even daring to look back and I didn't care to either. Why that girl was acting that way I will never know. Though it did have me worried that she would do something drastic that would hurt Master Jem and her sister.
As I rounded the corner, I about bumped into Jessamine who had a bored look on her face. She huffed at me and kept walking down the hall before going into Mistress Rhiannon's room. Something told me not to trust whatever Jessamine went in there for.
