Hey all! I am starting a new story. I just lost the feel of my last one. I have actually used a part of my dream for this. So I hope you guys like it! Please vote and let me know!!

I was wandering the streets of southern Phoenix, Arizona. It was a blistering hot day and I was sweating in the shade. I didn't want to be here. My mother moved us from beautiful Colorado because my father left her. In my opinion, I think she should have left him long ago. It may sound bad because he is my father, but he never treated her right.
I walked up to a bus stop that had a little bit of shade and sat down with a sigh. I'm on the hunt for a new job. I keep hearing "There's plenty of jobs in Phoenix!" "There's a lot of people that live down there that get jobs quickly!" What I say is wait till they don't have a job and they are looking for one. Then how many jobs are there?
Swiping the sweat off my brow, I look up the street to see if there was a bus on the way. It was currently 4:30 in the afternoon. The hottest part of the day. I am glad it is summer time. I am supposed to start my senior year of high school at the start of the new year. So I might as well get a summer job and start saving up for a place later when I am out of school.
I turned around to sit back down when I heard the sounds of a skate board coming down the sidewalk. I turn and look in the direction which I hear the sound and see a guy skating down the street towards me. Maybe he will just skate past. I'm not really in the mood to deal with awkward silences or even conversations. But I noticed that once he got closer, he started slowing down. He pulled up to the bus stop and kicked up his skate board and sat across from me.
Up this close, I noticed the kid couldn't have been a day over 13. Who in their right mind would let a 13 year old kid go out in Phoenix alone!? I mean, I wouldn't! This is like crime central!
"Hi." I hear the little kid ask.
"Hi." I said. Then looked down, suddenly interested in my shoes.
"My name is Teddy. Whats yours?" He said.
Weird....why would this kid be asking me my name? He doesn't know who I am. "Um....Abby."
"Nice to meet you Abby. Are you new in town?" God...what was this? 20 questions?!
"How could you tell?" I chuckled.
"Well, I was in a store down the street and you came in and got a job application. I kinda thought you were new to town."
"Hehe...ya. That. Um. I just moved here from Colorado. So...ya." Why in the world am I telling this kid all this!?!?! I don't know him and he doesn't know me!
"Wow. Colorado? Thats not too far but they are colder. You must be hot." He said with a big smirk on his face.
"And your not?" I said in shock. How in the world can he not be hot?! Its like 5 billion degrees outside!
"Naw." He said with a wave of his hand. "Its not bad. Wait a few more days when the temp goes up a few more degrees. This isn't too hot." He said with a laugh.
"Not too hot? What planet are you from?!"
"Planet Arizona." There was that smirk again. "I was born and raised here. I am used to this." He said, while spanning the streets with his eyes.
"Well then. That would explain why you aren't hot." I smiled.
"So where do you live? Are you around this area?" He asked. "My brother and I are throwing a pool party and we are inviting the neighborhood kids. If you want to come you are more than welcome. You would be surprised what cool water can do to your sweaty skin. Especially since you aren't used to this hot whether."
Boy oh boy did that sound really tempting. I can picture it now. Cool water on my hot skin. The thought alone gave me the shivers.
"I can see you day dreaming about it. Come on" He stood up and that is when I saw the bus coming. "My house is a few stops down. We can get your suit first if you want then I can show you my house."
"Sure, I guess. Mine is a few stops as well. Who knows we may live in the same area." I said with a chuckle as we boarded the bus.
While we were on the bus Teddy talked my ear off. The more he talked the more comfortable I became. I even talked with him too.
We came up to our stop and it seemed that we were getting off at the same stop. He pointed down the street and said, "My street is just up there. Where are you going?"
"Ironically enough, I am down the same street." I said with a small smile. I could come to like Arizona.
"Well, what are you waiting for? A rainy day? Cause we ain't gonna get one for awhile. Monsoon season isn't until September." He smirked again. I think that is a famous trade mark.
I laughed. "No, lets go."
We got to the street and I told him that my house was just around the corner. He pointed to his house which was just down the street. I told him I would get my swim suit and I would meet him there. With a wave goodbye, he took off towards his house. I hurried too. The image of cold water making me a little quicker. I had the urge to just go with all my close on because then I could be wet and cold on the short walk home.
I got my suit on, grabbed a towel, put my sandals on and rushed out the door in all of 5 minutes. When I got up to Teddy's house, I knocked on the door. When no one answered I rang the door bell. I heard some commotion in the house like slippery wet feet hitting tile and then a bump as if someone just ran into the door while trying to stop from slidding.
When the door finally opened, my jaw dropped.
