Abby's POV
Have you ever had those nerves that show up on a new day of school? Ya I have those. Today is Monday and its the first day of school. Luckily I am starting at a new school on the first day instead of later on in the semester. And I have some friends to start out with so that is a good thing too.
I finished getting ready and I walked into the kitchen. Making a bowl of cereal, I sat at the kitchen table and listened to my mother getting ready for work herself.
"Morning mom!" I said loudly so she could hear it.
"Oh! Good morning Abby. You ready for your first day being a senior?" She said, walking through her bedroom door while adjusting her apron.
Putting a spoonful in my mouth, I nodded.
She smiled at me. Then, as if on cue, I heard Jeremy honk his horn, meaning he was ready to for school. And meaning I was riding with him, I guess.
I smiled and stood up walking to the kitchen window. When he caught sight of me I motioned for him to come inside. He turned the car off and headed up to the door. I unlocked it and opened it for him.
"Good morning." He said. It looked as if he was going to kiss me, until he caught sight of my mother. He cleared his thoat. "Good morning Ms. Nash." He said. It looked as though he was blushing slightly.
"Good morning Jeremy." She said, glancing at me.
"Sorry, Im just going to finish my breakfast then we can go." He sat down in the chair next to me.
"So, you two seem like good friends." My mother started. Grrreat. not again. We just went through this with his parents a couple of days ago. However, ever since that night it was like we were unseperable. I smiled to myself.
"I guess you could say that." Jeremy said with his signature smirk.
"Oh. Thats good. So I guess its safe to say that I can be comfortable with you being in my house." she said. Leaning against the counter, coffee in hand.
"Mom. I wouldnt allow someone in the house if we couldnt trust them." I said. Kinda shocked that she would not trust him.
"No Abby. I get what she is saying." He said, patting my arm. Then he looked at my mom. "Ms. Nash. I would do nothing to harm your daughter or you. I will not take anything from your home, unless asked or other wise given permission. I promise."
She nodded for a minute. Then she smiled. "Well then. I guess you are welcome any time."
I smiled. I guess that means my mother approves.
"Well kidos. I have to get to work. You," she leaned over and kissed my cheek. "have a great first day at school. Text me later and let me know how it goes. Ok?"
"Yes mom." I said rolling my eyes. "Oh, I dont have to work tonight, but I thought I would go to Jeremys house to hang out and go swimming afterwards. Is that ok?"
Mom looked at me for a second then looked at Jeremy. "Your parents meet her yet?"
"Yes ma'am. They met her last week the first day she came over."
