Chapter 3

I dont know what over came me but I just couldn't stop staring! Ugh...why does he have to be so hot?! I just need to keep telling myself that he is taken and I shouldnt even try.

Wait...what am I trying?! Stop it Abby!

"Ugh...sorry." He said as he let my arms go. He backed up a step. "I hear you are leaving? Do you want someone to walk you home? Its not a completely safe place to live."

"Um. Sure. I guess. Who though?" I said. I glanced around me. The only people left were Teddy, his girlfriend and Sam. Oh and Jeremy.

When I looked back at him I said, "Its not that big of a deal. I really dont think Teddy should walk me home. I mean I only live like right down the street. I shouldnt get mugged or kidnapped in that short walk."

He just looked at me and rolled his eyes. I glared at him.

"What was that for?" I said.

"What?" he said, putting his hands up in a defensive posture. "You really think I am going to let my little brother walk out this late?"

Crap, he had a point. So does that mean...

"I was going to walk you."

Double crap. I should have just said no. Now I have to show him where I live. Cause he seems like the kind of guy that wont take no for an answer.

I sighed and picked up my stuff that I dropped when I ran into him. "Fine. But only because you offered. I wont turn it down."

He smiled. Like full blown smile. And with that smile I was a goner. It lit up his whole face. His eyes seemed to have a glitter to them and it made me smile back.

He slid his sandals on and looked at Teddy. "Be good. I am gonna walk her home. Dont make out with Nikki too much because Mom and Dad are just upstairs. Doesnt mean that they arent going to check up on you guys."

Teddy just laughed.

On the way out, Sam said goodbye, got in his car and drove off in the opposite direction. I started walking towards my house.

"So....Abby. What brings you to Arizona?" Jeremy said with a sideways glance.

"Well, my mother and father got divorced and my mom couldnt stand to be in the same place as him. So we packed up and moved out here. We have some family in Mesa and she wanted that kind of support I guess."

"Oh. Im sorry. You must be going through a tough time. I mean with your parents getting divorced and being yanked out of your hometown and all." He said. Was that guilt on his face?

"No no...its not that bad. I am glad that my mother and father seperated. And I didnt really have that many friends in Colorado. So I guess you can look at this as a fresh start for both of us." I looked at him. We reached my house, and now we were standing in front of it.

"This is me." I said pointing over my shoulder.

"Anyways. If you need any help being shown around or just need someone to talk to, come on over and hang out with us. I know that Teddy wont mind." He looked at me and wagged his eye brows.

I smacked his arm playfully. "Hey! I am not a pedifile."

"What? How old do you think he is?" He questioned.

"I figured he was like 13 or so."

"Ya well he is almost 15 so you were close. But that means he is only like 3 years younger than you. And your not 18 yet so its not like it would be called pedofilia." He said and jumped away laughing when I tried to hit his arm again.

"Anyways...I will keep you on that offer. I need to get a job. Know where I can go?"

He tapped his finger on his chin for a second. "I will have to think about that for a bit. But I am off work tomorrow if you want to me to drive you around and help you get some apps?"

"Yeah sure. Sounds good. Um...you want my number? You can call me when you get up. I am somewhat of an early riser, so I will probably be up before you." I asked while handing him my phone.

He punched in his number and saved it. "We will see who is the early riser Abby. Good night."

WIth that he turned and walked away.

I dont know what made it to where I was stuck in the same spot staring after him as he walked away, but I was stuck there. Not a bone in my body would listen to me when I told it to move, until he was around the corner, out of site.

I got to my room. I immediately went and took a shower and got ready for bed. I noticed that mom wasnt here yet. Maybe she had better luck than I did with her job hunting. Just before I got to bed, I heard her come in the house.

"Abby?" I hear her call.

"Yeah mom! In my room." When she came to the door, I saw her wearing an apron and she looked exhausted. "I take it you found a job?"

"You can say that." With a sigh she leaned against my door jamb. "I will be waitressing at a Dennys just down the road. It is a 24 hour restaurant and they will have me do the late shift. So you probably wont be seeing much of me. I hope thats alright."

"Mom its fine. Plus I just met some really cool people that I will be going to school with. They live right up the street so I will have someone to hang out with when you are not at home."

She yawned. "Thats good hunny. Well I am going to go to bed. I am pooped. Good night Ab." She smiled. Kissed my forehead and went to her room on the other side of the house.

I stood up, went to plug in my phone and when the screen lit up there was a missed text.
