-Abby’s Point of View
Graduation day. It was an amazing thing for seniors across the world. I was so happy that this year was spent the way it was. I spent it with the man that I love. There were bumps in the road, but we have been going strong ever since. I think he is getting more serious. And now that we are done with high school, we will be moving in together at the beginning of June. A week away. It’s going to be awesome seeing things the way that he lives with me alone. I think it will be a lot better than when he was living with his parents.
My mom is sad to see me go. I think she will be really upset but she will have the Keating’s to help her in her hard times. Good thing that they live right down the street. Also, we have a bachelor who just moved in a few houses down and he seems to have a thing for my mom. That too is a good thing. Because she won’t be too lonely.
I was looking over the 700 students who were in attendance for the graduation today. A lot I know, but it was a huge school. Graduation was being held on the football field because there was no room big enough for just the students let alone the parents and loved ones there to watch you graduate. When they called Jeremy’s name I couldn’t help but cheer. He stood up a few rows away from me and looked straight at me. He blew me a kiss and the girls around me awed. I was cute. I blushed and blew one back.
When they called my name, I got hooting and hollering from not only Jeremy but his family was in the stands yelling at the top of their lungs, and so was my mother, who was sitting with them. I stood up and bowed in their direction. As I walked by Jeremy’s row he stood up and ran to me. Grabbed me and kissed me. I couldn’t help it but I kissed him back. People where whistling and shouting. I broke the kiss and pushed him back in a teasing manner. “I have a surprise for you, just you wait.” He said with his smirk and then he went back and sat down.
A surprise? I wonder what he means. Dinner? A movie? Hmm. Guess I will find out. I walked to the stage and shook hands with the teachers and the principle, all of which didn’t really look like they liked what happened in the isle, but they didn’t say anything. I walked off the stage, diploma in hand and walked back to my seat. I couldn’t help but stair at Jeremy as the rest of the kids walked up. It was like 20 minutes before they were done.
“Ladies and gentleman,” Said the principle, “I give you the class of 2008!” With that every student grabbed their graduation caps and threw them in the air. I couldn’t help but feel relieved that I no longer had to deal with high school. I looked up and watched all the caps in the air. I put my arms out and just took in the site. All of the sudden I was being lifted up and twirled around. I looked down and saw Jeremy below me.
“I love you Abby Nash.” He said as he put me down. And right there in front of God and everyone he got down on one knee. “I will love you every day of forever. I don’t ever want to leave you or lose you. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?” He pulled a ring box out of his pocket and opened it. The most beautiful 3 stoned diamond ring was placed in the box.
I lost my breath and everyone around us backed up to give us some room and went quiet to hear my answer. I could feel tears come to my eyes.
I nodded. “Yes, Jeremy, I will marry you!” I screamed and he stood up and kissed me so hard. Everyone around us cheered. We stayed like that for a minute until he reached back and placed the ring on my finger. It was a perfect fit.
“Congratulations guys!” I heard my Teddy behind us. I turned around a saw a knowing glitter in his eye. I ran over and hugged him. He whispered in my ear, “It’s about time.” I pulled back and saw him laughing. He knew!
Then my mother and Mrs. Keating walked up and hugged us. My mother hugged me extra hard. “I sure am going to miss you. And congratulations, two fold.” I pulled back from her. She had tears in her eyes. She picked up my left hand and inspected the ring. “I was kinda waiting for this day.” She smirked. “I hope he treats you well.” She looked over my right shoulder and looked at Jeremy. “He is a good kid. I think he will.”
“I love you mom.” I said and hugged her.
Jeremy came up behind me and said, “Let’s go home, future Mrs. Keating.” He kissed my neck.
“We can’t do that yet.” I laughed. “We can’t ditch our own graduation party. Not happening.” I pulled him in front of me and kissed him. I love this man. “Let’s go party. It’s at your house, so if worse comes to worse, there is your room.” I slid away from him and walked towards the parking lot.
-Teddy’s Point of View-
I walked into the house in front of everyone else, going to get the music started and the party started before everyone got here. I told my mom that I would help her set everything up. Only one more year and I would be a senior and this would be for me. But in one more year, who knows I may be an uncle. Now that Jeremy and Abby were engaged, it was a matter of time. Especially, since they will be live together, alone. So it’s only a matter of time.
I am somewhat envious of them. Nicole and I had a fall out. And I was now a single man. Maybe I should find who I am going to be with. It would be a nice change.
I heard the door bell and told my mom that I would go get it. I ran to the door, thankful that my leg healed quickly, and opened it. I was awe struck when I did. The girl on the other side of the door was drop dead gorgeous.
