"He did WHAT?!" Gray yelled.
"Yeah . . ." Was all I could say.
"So that's why you did that. Everything you did, you did for your brother. Damn it, I couldn't even have faith my own girlfriend! I'm the worst partner ever!"He yelled again, frustrated with himself.
"Gray it's okay. I know how it must have looked. It wasn't your fault!" I said, trying to calm him down.
"It wasn't you fault either!" He retorted, "But he still made it seem like it was. He's playing us all, Juvia. Don't you see that?!"
"Of course I do! But what more can I do?! I have to play his game, or else-"
"Or else he'll hurt Jamie, I know. Damn, he's put you in a horrible situation," Gray said, calming down.
"Gray, he can't know that I've told you. You have to keep it a secret for now, okay?" I asked him once again.
"I know. I promised, right? I'm not keen on breaking promises. We have to find a way to get Jamie away from him," Gray said in thought.
"Oh, that? Yeah, I already have a plan," I told him casually.
"Wait, you do?! Tell me!" He urged.
"Well, one of Lyon's rules was to not follow him to try and find Jamie, because he sends someone to see him so no one suspects him," I said.
"Yeah, so?" Gray said, not understanding my point.
"SO, that was a lie. He does see Jamie. It was only a suspicion, but I did suspect him of lying, because one time he said to me, 'Don't worry, I only gave him a few bruises.' At first I thought he meant that he told the person he sent to watch Jamie to give him a few bruises, but there was always the possibility of Lyon meaning that he actually was the one to give Jamie a few bruises. And then, Jamie's text confirmed my suspicion," I told him.
"That's right! Did his text say that Lyon's been watching him every day?" Gray asked.
"Exactly. Which means Lyon really has been seeing him every day. He just lied to cover it up so I wouldn't try and follow him," I stated.
"So, I assume the plan is for either us to follow him, or get the police to follow him?" Gray asked me.
"My family has a meeting with the investigators tomorrow afternoon. I'll bring it up then. But first, I should call my mom," I said.
"Why?"
"I don't think the room we are going in tomorrow is soundproof. If Lyon's gone this far, who knows if he's willing to sneak into the police station to make sure I don't say anything? His reputation and basically his life depends on whether I tell anyone. I need to make sure the room is soundproof," I said. Gray agreed.
I called Mom and asked her to give me the investigator's number. I was glad she had woken up before I called her. I still wanted her to get as much sleep as possible. She gave it to me hesitantly, but asked no questions, which I was glad of. I called the investigators assigned to our case.
"Hello? How may I help you?" A voice asked.
"Hello. My name is Juvia Lockser. I'm the sister of the victim assigned to the case on Jamie Lockser's disappearance," I said.
"Please hold for a minute, Miss Lockser," The voice said. I waited for a minute or two before he spoke again.
"Yes, I have the case folder. I'm one of the 2 investigators assigned to this case, how may I assist you?" the voice said.
"2 investigators? But . . . 3 investigators came to our house!" I said, forgetting what I had originally called for.
"What?! Okay, we need you and your family to come into the station immediately. What was it you originally called for? Is it extremely important?" The voice said frantically.
"Yes, I needed the meeting tomorrow to be in a soundproof room. Do not ask why, but it is basically life or death!" I said.
"Because of this unforeseen action, we are moving the meeting to today. Come with your family as quickly as possible to the police station," he said.
"I need to bring a guest with me. It relates to the reason of why I requested a soundproof room. His name is Gray Fullbuster. Put him on the list, please," I told him as well.
"Of course, ma'am. He will be on the list by the time you arrive," he said.
"Thank you, we will be there right away!" I said, and hung up on him.
"Juvia, what happened?!" Gray asked.
"We need to get my parents and go to the police station immediately! There's apparently been a breach in the case," I said as I put my jacket and shoes on quickly.
"Breach?! What does that mean?" He asked as he put his own shoes on and grabbed his phone.
I turned to him with a serious look on my face.
"It means someone managed to disguise themselves as an investigator for Jamie's case. Meaning one of the people on Lyon's side could be giving him any new possible information that the police have on this, so that Lyon can always be one step ahead of us."
