"Aaand . . . you two are good to go. Go on in," the officer controlling the robot said.

Gray and I went in and it was dark. No lights were turned on, actually. It was kind of like a cliche movie where you go in, the room is dark, and you get jumpscared. Although this time the ones walking in were expecting it and knew self-defense.

We walked down multiple dark hallways, but nothing happened. It made me even more suspicious. We didn't even know where we were going. The police were directing us through the communication devices we had.

"Stop!"

We stopped. In case you were wondering, that was the chief, not one of Lyon's guys.

"There's a camera right there to your left. Don't walk in front of it. There might be someone watching them. Walk beneath it and take the cover off. It should just peel off. Make sure your fingers and sleeves aren't noticeable," the chief instructed.

I signalled to Gray for him to stay put. I'd be doing the first one. I did what I was instructed, and got the cover off.

"It's off. Where should we go next?" I reported.

"Go down the hallway and then turn left. There should be a room with a camera outside it. That should be the security room according to the blueprints," the chief said.

"Yes sir. Gray, come on. Make sure to avoid the camera view," I said.

He nodded and we took the route we were supposed to. I haven't seen the robot yet. It did get far ahead of us so it made sense. We saw the camera and this time Gray took care of it. We had already found and taken care of 2 cameras. It sounded like we were making good time.

"Wait wait go back! Hide!" The chief suddenly yelled.

"What do you mean?! It's just hallways there is nowhere to hide! What's happening?" I said.

"Then just run down a different hallway. Quickly! Two people are coming towards you and we didn't send anyone else in. Be careful of cameras! Go!" The chief ordered.

Gray took my hand and we ran down the nearest hallway. There were no cameras here apparently. It looked to be the place they hold prisoners while waiting for their trial. Cells lined the walls. Since I looked at the blueprints beforehand, I knew that there was supposed to be only one camera here, and that was in the entrance to the hallway, which is the one we just took care of.

Gray and I looked around but there was nothing to hide us. We had no choice but to hide in the corner of one of the cells. We hid in the nearest cell, making our bodies as small as possible. We heard footsteps and two silhouettes walked by. We stayed quiet.

"I thought I saw a shadow run by. Did the little runt escape?" An unfamiliar voice asked.

"I didn't do anything I swear!"

I knew that voice.

Jamie.

I started to get up. Gray held me back down, not letting me move. I looked at him with pleading eyes but he shook his head. Jamie, my brother was right there! I could see him again! He was right there yet I couldn't reach him! Not yet. I knew Gray was right. I would risk our safety if I moved any more, but I would also risk Jamie's safety by not doing anything. They thought he escaped when it was really us who they saw. We led them right to him, making them think he ran back to his cell so he could trick them into thinking he hadn't tried to escape. If they hurt Jamie for this, it was our own fault.

"Boss wouldn't like us hurting you too much. You're already fragile enough as it is. You're lucky Boss has a heart, else you'd probably be close to death right now. You try and escape again, and we won't hesitate, understand?" Another voice asked.

A few seconds of silence, then the sound of something hitting against metal.

"Say something in response, don't nod!" One of them yelled.

"I-I'm sorry! I understand!"

"Good."

The two walked passed out cell and left. We waited for a little so we knew they wouldn't come back. Then we moved. I was the first to get out. I needed to see my little brother. We went two cells down from where we hid and saw a body curled up in the middle of the cell.

"Jamie?" I asked hesitantly.

The body jolted up quickly. It was dark in here, but not too dark. I saw his blue eyes and knew it was him.

"Juvia! Get me out, please! It's horrible here!" He cried.

"Shh. That's what we're here to do. The police are outside. Stay quiet okay?" I asked. He nodded.

"Kids, have you found him? Who are you talking to?" The chief asked through the device.

"Yes, we've found Jamie. We're getting him out now. Please be ready to send backup. We can't afford to cut it that close again," I said back.

"Was that the police?" Jamie asked.

"Yep. We're getting you out of here. We just need to figure out a way to open the cell," I said.

"The keys should be in a security office I think. I heard guards talking about it," Jamie said.

"Really? Thanks bud. Gray, can you go get them? I need to keep Jamie calm and quiet," I said.

"Of course. I'll be right back," he said and quietly ran off. His footsteps made no sound.

"Juvia was that Gray-san? I thought he hated you," Jamie asked confusingly.

"Yeah- wait how do you know about that?" I asked him.

"There's a lot of things you can learn by just listening. The guards are very talkative," he said. I chuckled. I had once taught him that listening to your surroundings is key. I guess he took that lesson to heart.

Gray came back with the keys and I opened the cell. An alarm went off. I grabbed Jamie's hand and we ran. Gray yelled into the communication device for backup now. Guards came out of nowhere behind us and started chasing us. The officers we came with ran out of the hallway we just passed and started fending them off. None had gotten passed them. We kept running until we get to the lobby of the abandoned police station. Jamie's hand slipped from mine and he fell behind. He must not have moved from the cell since he was put in it, so he must not have much energy. The room was lighter here. There were windows, so the daylight flooded in. We could see the cop cars outside with the chief and detective taking a stance with a gun in their hands. I ran back to get Jamie.

"Wait Juvia!" Gray yelled. He ran back with me.

Then the sound of a gun shot filled the room.
