Broken Then Fixed: Gruvia

Chapter 4:

"Juvia, I know you told him something that made him suspicious. If you tell me what he knows, your punishment won't be as bad."

His evil voice struck me before I saw him. I shivered from fear.

I nodded. "H-He knows that I fainted from stress. I was worrying about Jamie's condition and...and...I'm sorry Lyon." I said.

"What else." He demanded. I flinched.

"He knows that it has something to do with Jamie. He suspects you because he caught us kissing and he's mad at you. It's only a suspicion I swear!" I told him, trying to convince him.

He nodded. "Thank you for telling me the truth. You punishment is to ignore him again tomorrow unless it's necessary to talk with him. I know you are project partners and I won't do anything to affect your grades. You're going to be going to my college with me and it expects very high grades, which luckily you have. Jamie will also get some punishment though, for your little mistake. It won't be that bad, just a few bruises." He said smiling.

My eyes widened.

"Remember. Not a word more about this, my love." He said before disappearing.

I was shaking. The images of a hurt Jamie came back to me. I had to calm down before Gray~Sama comes out. I can't faint again right after I just got out of the nurse's office. Then they would know something is definitely wrong. I heard the door open behind me and I forced myself to smile and pretend everything was fine. I saw Gray looking at me, and he asked if I was okay. I smiled and nodded, hoping to convince him. I looked at the clock and noticed it was past school time. I looked at him in shock and he nodded.

"You must have been extremely tired because you slept for about 3 hours. Have you gotten much sleep at all?" He asked as we walked home.

I shook my head, knowing that it would make him more suspicious if I lied about it.

"I had a lot of homework, and I have a college I want to get in to and it expects very high grades." I said repeating Lyon's words.

He looked at me as if asking, "is that all?"

I sighed. "I've also been really worrying for Jamie. The police found barely any trace of him. They think he's been kidnapped. I can't think of what anyone would want with him though." I said, once again lying.

He sighed and grabbed my wrist. He dragged me outside to a brick wall that separated my neighborhood from another.

He let go, took his phone out, and played a recording. I instantly recognized the voices.

"...if you tell me what he knows, then your punishment won't be as bad..."

I was shaking again for about the fourth or fifth time today. He caught the whole conversation on video. The recording ended when Lyon said, "Remember, not a word more about this, my love."

"Is this why you and him were kissing?" He asked. It was more like a demand.

"I-I..." I didn't know what to say. I couldn't see Lyon anywhere, but you never know. He could be listening right now. He somehow found out about the thing at the park, even if it was in bits and pieces.

"What does Lyon mean by punishment?" He tried again. This time his voice sounded more forceful.

I yanked my wrist away from his hand. "I will not put Jamie's life in danger more than it is right now. I will neither confirm nor deny that recording. Don't show anyone and don't talk about it with anyone. I'll see you tomorrow, Gray~Sama." I said, and rushed back to my house , not bothering to stop the tears. He's putting the pieces together quickly. It's been about a month since Jamie was first taken. I miss him more than simple words alone could describe.

I dropped my backpack on the floor in my room and headed down the hall to my brother's room. We used to have sleepovers in his room all the time. I spent most of my time in here when I wasn't at school or doing homework. I didn't even dare write in a journal about all of this. What if my parents found it? What if Gray found it and tried using it as evidence along with his recording. I know he's not going to delete it. Not when the stakes are this high. We were playing with lives here. We had to be smart about this. I thought I knew Lyon up until a month ago. Gray thought he did too, up until about a few weeks ago when he saw the kiss. But now we have no idea what he's capable of. He's dangerous, and we have to be careful how we do this.
