Reconnecting

Emily's dress

5 years had passed, not a day has gone by where I didn't miss Tommy. I live next to Emily and Tubbo. They got engaged last month. I don't know where Tommy lives or where he is. He probably doesn't want to see me anyway. I'm 24 and still I can't just move on.

I've tried, Emily tried to set me up multiple times. None of them made me feel like Tommy made me feel tho. Did I blew my chance of a perfect relationship? Maybe.

I get woken up from my trance by someone ringing my doorbell. "Amy! You need to help me with my dress!" Emily says and she is standing in my door frame fully dressed.

Emily's dark brown hair is now longer and curlier. She now wore lenses and she started wearing make up.

"Let me get dressed first" I say and I go inside to get dressed while Amy waits on the sofa. I decide to just put on a simple pair of jeans and a shirt with vest. I put on my sneakers, brush my hair and me and Emily are on our way to the store.

"So I saw this pretty dress and I think they have it in this store" Emily says while we drive to the store. "You will definitely look good in that dress!" I say when she shows me a picture.

"Oh, uhm Tommy is Tubbo's best man" Emily says and I go silent. "I mean, I expected it" I say breaking the silence. "Maybe you could talk to him at the wedding?" Emily suggests. "I don't think that's going to happen" I tell her and I make a turn.

"Okay, but since you are my maid of honor you do need to like walk down the aisle with the best man, You know what I mean" she says. "Can't I just walk down the aisle with James?" I ask her. "He's already walking down the aisles with Kate" she says.

"Fine" I say a bit annoyed. I mean I get it; James and Kate are in a relationship after all, but still. "Here it is!" Emily says exited and she points at a store. "Okay!" I answer and I park in front of the store.

We go inside and are greeted by an old lady who works there. "Are you Emily Williams?" She asks me. "I have a couple of very pretty dresses for you dear!" She says without letting me answer and she starts picking out dresses. "Uhm, no. I'm her maid of honor" I tell her. "Oh, I'm sorry!" The lady says with a small chuckle.

Emily walks inside the store and the lady greets her. "You must be Emily! You already picked out a couple of dresses online right?" The lady asks. "I did, can we go to the dressing room please?" She asks and we are on our way.

Me and Emily are in one of the dressing stalls trying on a dress. "I can't wait when I get to do this for you!" She says excitedly looking at herself in the mirror. "Yeah, that's never going to happen!" I say with a chuckle.

"Yes it is!" She says and she gives me a small push. "Maybe, maybe not!" I reply. "Do you like this dress?" I ask her and I look at her in the mirror. "I don't know, can we try on another one?" She asks. "Of course!" I tell her and I grab another dress.

"Oh, next week we are picking out bridesmaids dresses with Kate and Elizabeth" Emily tells me while I help her put on another dress. "Sounds fun!" I tell her.

"When are Kate and Elizabeth actually arriving?" She asks. "They went to pick up your grandmothers veil" I tell her. "Oh of course" she says. "They should be here any time don't worry!" I tell her.

After trying on another 2 dresses Kate and Elizabeth arrive. "Hey! We still haven't found Emily a dress" I tell them. "Really? I thought we were way to late!" Kate says holding a box where the veil is in.

"No, she's trying on the last dress right now" I tell them. "Amy! Help!" Emily yells from the dressing room. "Coming!" I reply and I help her put on the dress.

We both walk out and we look at the dress. "What do you think?" She asks and she looks at herself. "It's so pretty!" I tell her and she spins around. "You should put on the veil!" Elizabeth says and Kate puts on the veil.

"That's even more prettier!" Kate says. "Do you think Toby will like it?" She asks looking at herself. "Of course he will!" I say and I look at Emily in her dress.

"Then I think I'll pick this one!" She says proudly.

We help Emily take of the dress and we pay for it. "Oh, are you guys having lunch with me and Toby?" Emily asks. "Yes, of course!" I say. "Yes!" Elizabeth replies. "I'll be there" Kate says while she puts the veil in the box.

We pay for the dress and go outside where Tubbo is waiting. "Hide the dress!" I tell Emily. "Wait inside! I'll distract Tubbo, you put it in my trunk!" I tell Emily and I go outside.

"Hey Tubbo!" I greet him. "Hey Amy! Uhm I brought Tommy if that's okay with you?" He asks. There's an awkward silence. "I'll be fine!" I tell him and I smile. I look at the car where Tommy is scrolling through his phone.

He still has the same messy blonde hair, except now he's wearing neat clothes instead of the white with red sleeve shirt that he wears all the time.

"We put the dress in the trunk!" Emily says coming up to us followed by Kate and Elizabeth. She gives Tubbo a quick kiss and we get into our cars.

Emily gets in the car with Tommy and Tubbo and I drive Kate and Elizabeth to the place.

"So, are you going to talk to Tommy?" Kate asks me. "No" I reply annoyed. "Why not! We all know you still miss him!" Elizabeth says. "I don't want to steal Emily's spot light" I tell them. "Okay then" Elizabeth says and she grabs her phone.

We arrive at the place where we are having lunch and I go inside with the rest of the girls. We sit down at a table. I sit next to Emily, Tommy in front of me, Tubbo in front of Emily and Kate and Elizabeth on the sides of the table.

"Hello" Tommy greets me when he sits down. "Hello" I greet him back. "So, how have you been?" He asks. "Good, I'm a screen writer" I tell him. "You found a special someone?" He asks out of the blue and the table goes quiet.

"I went on dates" I tell him breaking the silence. "So, next week Amy Will be helping me pick out bridesmaids dresses!" Emily says exited trying to make the moment less awkward. "I'm also exited! What color were you thinking of?" I ask her. "Yellow, like the flowers Toby picked out" she tells me. "Tubbo picked out flowers?" I ask looking at Tubbo.

"It was the one thing Emi would let me pick out other then my suit" he says chuckling but Emily gives him a look. "You wanted to hire a beekeeper for the wedding!" She says and everyone at the table starts laughing.

"So, have you guys picked out any wedding songs?" Tommy asks. "Not really, but 'just the two of us by Grover Washington' Will probably be in there" Emily says.

I let go and stand up and Tommy gets up as well. "You feel better?" He ask me. "Yeah" I says and I put my hand on his chest. I slowly lean in and kiss him again.

We both let go and we walk back to Tommy's car holding hands. "We should do this more often, just the two of us" he says getting into my car. "We should" I answer and I smile at him.

When I think of the memory I go silent. "You okay?" Tommy asks. "I'm fine" I tell him and I join in the conversation again.

"When we were at the store the lady that worked there mistaked Amy for me and she started picking out dresses for her!" Amy says laughing and I laugh with her. "There were a couple that would've looked good on you" Emily says and she gives me a push.

"I told you, probably never going to happen" I say and I give Tommy a look.
