Strangly Human-Like Wall

I hadn't been in here in ages. The school canteen. Mostly I ate my packed lunch in the library, while reading a book, but today I wasn't allowed in the library. I was being forced to eat with people. The horror. Glancing around, I saw an empty table in a dark corner, the edging chipped and missing a leg, making it wobbly. Keeping my head down, I made a beeline for it, and crashed into a strangely human-like wall. I looked up. In front of me wasn't a wall, but a person. A guy. A really cute guy. He had short brown hair, tanned skin and hazel eyes.
"I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going and I just bum-" I rambled, feeling myself going red with embarrassment. I seem to do that a lot.
"Hey, it's okay. Happens to the best of us. I'm Zach, and you are..?"

"India! Over here!" From the corner of my eye, I could see Hunter waving at me.
He was sitting with the crowd I knew he would be with.
The Populars. And sitting next to him, with an icy glare at me, her fingers in her hair as if she had been in the middle of twirling it, was Kaitlyn Greene.
Schools biggest flirt, and the most beautiful girl. I mean shark. If you got in her way, especially when it comes to guys, she would sink her teeth into you and rip you pieces. When it came to guys, she would rip your heart to pieces.
Loose inky waves fell past her shoulders, framing a heart shaped face and startling blue eyes. They were the colour blue you could get when you almost ran out of blue ink, so bright, yet pale. Every guy fell for her, no matter how many times she had broken others hearts. I hated her guts.
Now I'm not going to tell you something cliche about why I hate her. I'm not going to say we were best friends when we were younger and then she just changed and became icy.
We used to know each other, but we weren't that close.
I hate her, because every guy I knew, she would take. The two that hurt the most were Jack and Dean. Jack was my best friend, we used to do everything together when we were little. Then, as we grew older, he started to like Kaitlyn. He used to always talk about her, and one day she talked to him. Then, she started dating him. He forget all about me, and just hung out with her. And she broke his heart into a million tiny pieces. And he expected me to be the one to pick up the pieces. I tried to, but she had already caused her damage. We no longer spoke, and for some reason, he blamed me for what happened.
Then there is Dean. He was my first boyfriend, and the first boy I really loved. Let's just say when I walked through the shelves in the library and few months later, I found them both sucking each other's faces off. He barely even tried to explain, and she just stood there, a satisfied smirk across her perfect features, as if glad she had broken up my relationship.
Okay, so know you've listened to my rant about Kaitlyn, you know I hate her.
"Yo, Zach, get over here and bring India too."

"So you're names India huh? Pretty name."

"Thanks."

Zach and I made our way over to the table, Kaitlyn giving me a glare all the while. I almost smirked, knowing that she wanted Hunter, and had been weaving him into her web when he had called me over.

"So guys," Hunter said, addressing the table, "this is India Flores."

"Hi." I wave to everyone, and gave them a meek smile.

I didn't dare turn to Kaitlyn, I could already feel her laser eyes boring into the back of my head. I wasn't scared of her, I just didn't like confrontation.

"So India," Kaitlyn sneered, as if just saying my name disgusted her, "did you enjoy maths today? I heard there was quite a show."
Did I forget to mention, that as well as having ice-queen good looks, that she was also really smart, like nearly top of the class. She was also filthy rich. She could afford the best clothing, designer of course, yet she still went to a public school, instead of some private one.

"I have no idea what you're talking about Kaitlyn." I say, trying to keep calm and not say something embarrassing.

"Sure you don't."

Soon after, the table went back to a steady stream of chatter, until the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch.

I quickly packed up my things, and acted like I couldn't see the whispers from Kaitlyn and her posse.

Hey guys!

New chapter!

I've come up with a writing schedule, a new update every Saturday and Thursday.

So, you've met the Queen Bee herself Kaitlyn Greene, and Cutie Zach. You'll learn more about the characters in future chapters.

Picture is Keegan Allen, who I picture as Hunter when I write. (Yes, he plays Toby in pretty little liars)

So, hope you enjoyed this update, and I hope it was long!

Bye guys
