After spewing out a string of impressive wins, the Boston Blackhawks found themselves in a dominating position. They were leading the Atlantic division and the Eastern conference. Heck they were running the entire NHL.
Percy was leading the team and league in points, Crow had the most penalty minutes on the team, Jeremy led in goals on the team and in the league having 61 (kind of like an Ovechkin), Scooby had the highest save percentage and number of shutouts, having an impressive number of eight.
Only one other category was left unlead and that was the hits. While Drouin owned the most on the team, in the league it was controlled by the Backstabbers and Israel Wassmuth. The Backstabbers also own the most penalty minutes with 100. The Boston Blackhawks just weren't hitters or dirty. They focused more-so on scoring and winning. And it was only the first half of the season anyway.
Critics were shocked and analysts were baffled by the ability for the Blackhawks to own such high numbers and be so powerful. But the fans in Boston were alive with energy. The team was on fire and pumping out win after win.
Why wouldn't the city be buzzing with excitement?
And the organization was loving the success, the Boston Blackhawks were quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. They were the top pick by everyone to win the Cup this year and they were dominating all the TV sports programs.
Who could possibly take down the high-flying Hawks and their star-powered offense? It was a question many asked and so few could answer. At the moment it was only themselves. And if they lost a close match, they were only that much stronger in the next game. If they lost a close game by one or two, the next game the offense poured on the power and got a huge win. It was almost unfair to everyone else.
While Boston had its share of supporters and fans, there were a few fans of other teams who weren't thrilled by the dominating team from Boston. But they were rapidly silenced by a Blackhawks fan. And before long, it was well into January and the time for the annual Blackhawks Convention. Everyone was excited, even more than the previous seven years.
It certainly was the year of the Boston Blackhawks.
