Percy heard the click of the door. It swung open and the Boston Blackhawks centre lifted his head up. His blood-shot, tear-stained eyes focused on the exit. Piper stood in the frame. She smiled kindly to him.
He continued to stare at her, as she stepped to the side and gestured with her hand toward the exit in approval. She nodded to him. It was alright for him to leave. He didn't move though.
She walked in and grabbed his arms in her hands and helped him to his feet. He was shaking from head to foot, but she led him out of the room finally. He didn't look back, all he could do was keep his eyes forward.
As they walked, she lifted her hand at the side of him and pressed something sharp into his upper arm muscle. He flinched, wincing, but soon the pinching sharpness faded. She sat him in a cushioned chair, like in a doctor's waiting room. His head lolled to the side, his eyes glazed over with no emotion.
"It was fun, Canadian, but like the playoffs and the NHL seasons, it must end. I injected you with a sedative, it will help to ease you back into normalness. I have faith that you will be able to return to top form, my beloved centerman. You'll win the Selke for years to come and go down in Boston Blackhawks history!"
She kissed him once more in farewell and walked off. He closed his eyes and drifted off into sleep, limply lying in the chair.
Piper returned to Jeremy after a few seconds. She walked up to the bed, where the Blackhawk was highly vulnerable. She grabbed his hands in hers, causing him to snap his head up and look at her. She softly yanked him off the bed and pulled him to his feet. She wiped his tears away with her hands.
"I'm going to miss you, Jer, my darling!" She whispered, as she wrapped her arms around his, embracing the Blackhawk.
He relaxed, letting her say her farewell to him. She finally let him go and snatched his hands back into her own. She looked at the red marks striping the skin on his arms and wrists. She showed empathy for him and kissed his skin there once more.
"I'm sure those marks will disappear. I'd hate to hear that they remained there and your teammates teased you for it!"
She reached into her pocket and withdrew a syringe. Jeremy winced, as she jammed it into his arm rapidly and then pulled it out. The temporary, pinching sharpness faded instantly and she led him out of the room. She tossed the empty shot to the bed.
The Hawk remained quiet and mute, as she led him out into a doctor's style waiting room. In one of the chairs, unconscious, was Percy Kane. He didn't look hurt, but he had a few bruises and marks, similar to Jeremy's.
Piper aided Jeremy into the chair beside the Blackhawk. His head lolled to the side and he eventually blacked out as well. She gave him a final kiss on the lips, which were lifeless due to his unconscious state and, as she kissed him, she made sure to give his crotch one last squeeze in farewell.
Then she blew a kiss at the unconscious hockey player and walked away.
