Tyler Marchand joined the Boston Blackhawks in their coming season and was a stellar offensive weapon for them. He put the Hawks on a winning record, helping them to get to the playoffs for the first time in years. He lit lamps and was amazing in shootouts.

He finished the rookie season with 24 goals, 39 assists, 63 points and a plus 20. He had 241 shots on goal and 26 penalty minutes. On special teams, he helped out scoring 8 power play goals and 9 assists. And he had 5 game-winning goals.

Because of his awesome first year in the NHL, he earned the Calder Trophy. Quickly, thanks to his leadership and wisdom he had for such a youngster, he was awarded with being the assistant captain to Jonathan Getzlaf. Together, Tyler Marchand and Jonathan Getzlaf formed an impenetrable bond and bromance. Patrick Cleary was signed as well, but he split time between the AHL and being on the third/fourth line.

Fiyero, however, was too old and he didn't care to join, he remained captain for the BC Eagles, leading them to more victories, until he finally moved on to do something else. He actually became a new announcer for the Blackhawks, taking on a Jack Edwards role. And he was perfect for it, as he had a serious fan side for the local team.

And two certain friends on the team: Patrick Cleary...and more importantly...the rookie sensation: Tyler Marchand!
