*Y/N's POV*
"Are you ready Y/N?", the tanned, red-headed man asked me excitedly while his butler opened up a large portal for us three to fit through. We were inside my rented apartment that's now filled with large boxes of all of my stuff I packed for days now. Thankfully, these two fellas lent me their hands to make the job go smoothly.
"Always been, Lord Diavolo", I sneered at him softly, my heart jumping in excitement despite my calm remarks. "After all, I missed everyone. I realize where my home really is."
"Aww, enough with the formality. Just call me by my name. I feel like a grandpa", he said this as we faced the golden circle where we could see his living room from the other side. His hand went over to my head for a gentle pat, like a father to a child blissfully reuniting.
"I'd better call you that in case Lucifer's around. I don't wanna end up being their Christmas ornament", jokingly, I said then we finally walked through the portal, luggages attached to my little hands as I pulled them with me.
Finally, a fresh start from the life of being a normal human. Honestly, there weren't any interesting activities after I finished college. That feeling of 'I got the degree, then now what' got stuck within me while living my remaining days in boredom. I kind of regretted signing up for [most hated degree] just to meet my family's standards. You know the usual, wherein everyone was too expectant of you to get 'em out of poverty. Before even leaving the human realm, I had no choice but to leave all of my savings to them since I was the one being ungrateful.
I did not mind their toxicity at all. For all those years of facing my fake officemates and perverted boss already got me as invulnerable as ever. Maybe the only thing that could hold me down was death─just thinking about it would probably jinx me.
After moving all of my things from my apartment, Diavolo apparently convinced me to surprise the brothers as none of them were aware of my permanent stay in this realm. I was filled with complete enthusiasm to meet them again, especially the one I fell for, Mammon.
I have been hiding these feelings ever since he caught my attention when Lucifer once assigned him to take good care of me. He appeared to be someone who's easy to read and ultimately obvious in expressing himself. Apparently, his actions got me confused and hopeless overtime, thinking that what if he's just being pressured by the people around him? He somehow reacted agitated around me, but the same with the others. Anxiety and excitement poured themselves into me that these actions of him were normal and that our feelings might not be mutual.
But I'm still hoping...
"Y/N, you should get dressed up for the welcoming party and surprise later", Barbatos told me, shocked me up a bit because I need not any parties anymore since I've been here in Devildom before. "I have bought you various outfits for you to choose."
I just nodded back at him and followed his direction as he led me to a spacious wardrobe of women's clothing with all shapes and sizes. A specific set of clothes caught my eye: simple yet elegant as they say. It was a knee-length black dress, glittering as light shone upon it. Small and irregular-shaped amethyst stones were lined up at the v-neckline of the very dress, complimenting its minimalistic design that you are in no need of expensive jewelry to look fancy with it.
