𝑌𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑑𝑎𝑦 - 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑙𝑒𝑠

"Rio...wake up." Seventeen year old Beth said quietly, shaking her brother away very gently, well as gently as she possibly could. After a few moments of calling out his name, he woke up with his eyes almost squeezed shut. His vision was slightly blurry and it was a pain to get his eyes open all the way, it was physically impossible.

By the figure in front of him on his bedside, and the voice, he knew it was his sister. "Ugh Beth, what the fuck are you doing in here you freak?" He questioned while rubbing his eyes in an attempt to help his sight focus more. Tucking her curly hair behind her ears she sighed in a bit of frustration wondering how in the world Rio didn't hear the yelling from down stairs.

"Can you get up please? Mamá and papá are fighting. Hurry up way, I wanna see what's going on. Come to the living room with me." Beth suggested as he stayed laying down and rubbing his tired eyes. "Why can't you go by yourself?" He questioned with a long groan, he was already up so there was nothing better to do. Playing with the bottom on her long shirt that covered over her shorts she gave a small shrug.

"So then we both get in trouble instead of just me..." she answered, part of her was joking and other part was actually being truthful. She was just scarred to go out and investigate on her own. Obviously it had to be something serious since their partners rarely fought. Usually it wouldn't be so loud, but they were full on screaming at each other.

I've seen them fight before, maybe once or twice, in all of those occasions Beth was with me just standing behind me, clinging to my arm as if I did nothing wrong. All those fights were my fault, and it wasn't a pretty sight. Sometimes she would try to resolve it, other times we would just leave without even finishing the meal Delores had cooked for us. At the time I didn't feel bad about it.

Getting up from his bed, he reached for a shirt that was lazily tossed on the floor and slipped it on, not carrying that it was inside out and backwards. "Okay, fine..." He caved in, walking past her and to his door, opening it slowly hearing the slight creaking. Everything in that house creaked since it was so old.

Beth following right behind him while the two went down the stairs. "Is everything okay?" Rio asked looking between the two grown adults. Suddenly the arguing stopped and they looked over to their children that were standing side by side at the entrance of the stairway. With a sigh, their mother put her hand on her forehead, brushing away her hair.
