Virgil stepped out of the bus, Patton immediately grabbing its arm and dragging it to his house.

"You're gonna love it here!" Patton squealed, "My dad is super nice and sweet, and my daddy- er, other dad is super fun!"

Virgil nodded, "I'm sure they're lovely."

It was super anxious, but excited! Oh, but what if his Patton's parents hate it? Should it have wore something less dark and edgy?

Patton lead it to the door, "Oh," he suddenly stopped, "I should probably tell you this. My dad, Emile, he's uh.."

He giggled nervously, "He's deaf. Can't hear anything. At all."

"Oh," Virgil slowly nodded, "I.. don't know sign language."

"I can translate," Patton waved it off, "And he can read lips, just don't talk super fast."

"I could also, you know," Virgil chuckled, "learn sign language."

Patton gasped, letting go of the door knob, "You'd learn it just to speak to my dad?!"

Virgil smiled, its fangs showing, "Why wouldn't I?" it teased, "How else am I going to talk to my future hus- er, boyfriend's dad?"

Patton hugged Virgil, "Ahhh! I love you so much!"

Virgil's brain stopped for a second. Its human brain was trying to process the words, but its creature part moved for it.

It wrapped its arms and spider legs around him, digging its face into his fluffy hair, "I love you too," it mumbled.

Patton hugged for a bit longer before pulling away, much to Virgil's disappointment, "We should go in, don't want my dad to starts freaking out about me not home."

He opened the door, taking Virgil's hand in his. He walked in, Virgil following. shutting the door.

On the couch, there was a man, sitting and reading a book. He had chocolate brown hair, dark skin, brown eyes and pink, squared glasses. He was wearing a peach colored sweater and jeans. He was reading a Harry Potter book.

Patton let go of Virgil's hand waving at his dad to get his attention. The man looked up, a warm smile on his face as he set the book down. His hands started to move, his expression changing with, but he still had the warm, welcoming smile.

Patton moved his hands, responding to whatever his dad said. Virgil made a mental note to learn sign language, feeling a bit left out and out of place.

Patton suddenly pointed at Virgil, the spider creature freezing when the man looked over at it.

"Virgil," Patton said, "This is Emile, my dad."

"Hi,' Virgil awkwardly waved, "I'm Virgil."

The man, Emile, stood up, smiling warmly at Virgil now. He waved his hand, then started to sign. Virgil turned to Patton for help.

"He's asking when you want to start baking cookies." Patton translated.

'Uh," Virgil looked down, feeling awkward, "Whenever, I guess."

Emile frowned, turning to Patton, signing again. Patton giggled, signing back. Emile looked like he understood or just realized something, looking back at Virgil, signing to it.

"He says you can get settled in first, and then we can bake cookies,' Patton jumped up and down excitedly, "Come on! Let's go to my room!"

Virgil didn't get a chance to speak, Patton grabbing it and running off down the hall. Emile watched the two run off. He picked his book back up and sat down.

Patton threw his door opened, shoving Virgil in before closing the door, "This is my room!" he exclaimed.

The room was small. There was a bed against the wall, with many stuffies on it. In the corner were even more stuffies. There was a small desk area with a grey laptop and lamp. Next to it was a small bookshelf with many books, both adult and kid books. There was a round, dark blue carpet in the middle of the floor. A dresser was near the door, a frog plushie on top with more books.

Patton took Virgil to the bed, sitting them both down, "I have many toys, sorry if that's.. childish," he rubbed at his arm, smiling nervously.

Virgil rolled its six eyes, "It's fine, you can never be too old for toys."

"You're lucky dad made me clean my room," Patton said, taking an elephant plushie from the pile, "Otherwise, it'd be a mess. I'm a hoarder."

Virgil smiled, "That's alright, my dad, Janus, is also a hoarder. Nothing bad."

Patton shrugged, "I guess, Logan says I should try to break out of it. But it's too hard!" he whined, "I just wanna keep all of it! They hold memories! Who'd get rid of memories?"

Virgil smirked, "I'm completely on your side."

Patton scowled, "You aren't just saying that because you're my partner, are you?"

Virgil leaned forward, "Maybe, but does it matter?"

"I guess not," Patton huffed, face heating up a bit when Virgil only shifted closer.

"Bit close," He mumbled, looking away.

"Is that a bad thing?" Virgil asked, gently cupping Patton's face, rubbing its thumb on his cheek.

Patton leaned into the touch, "No," he sighed, scooting closer.

Virgil was struggling with keeping its spider brain under control. It so badly wanted to bite the boy, claim him as its. Kiss him, hug him, protect him, please him, whatever he wants, Virgil will do.

Virgil squashed the thoughts and feelings down, simply smiling, "You're adorable."

"You're handsome and beautiful," Patton responded, winking at it.

Virgil's pupils threaten to turn to slits, "Careful, I can't always control my spider part," it joked.

Patton tilt his head, "What do you mean?" he asked, looking so innocent and just absolutely adorable.

Virgil hissed, shaking its head, "We should go and bake those cookies, yeah?"

"Wait," Patton grabbed its free hand, looking a bit concerned, "Is it.. something serious?"

Virgil chuckled, "I love how much you care," it whispered, "I'm alright, I promise. It's just, my brain is split. One side is human, the other a creature mind. Sometimes, the creature part takes control, and it's a bit hard to push that away."

"Is it painful?" Patton was completely concerned now. He didn't want Virgil to be in any type of pain.

"None at all," Virgil hummed, moving its hand to play with the other's hair, "It just sucks. But nothing painful."

Patton wanted to ask more. He had many questions, but Virgil was pulling away, standing up, "I need to use the restroom, and them we can start doing cookies, ok?"

Patton nodded hesitantly, "Alright."

"Where's the-?"

"Just across the hall."

"Thanks."

Virgil calmly walked to the bathroom, opening the door and shutting it. It immediately let out a big breath, sliding down the door. It wanted to just touch him more, but it knew it couldn't- shouldn't do it.

It let out a pitiful hiss. This was going to be harder then first thought.
