"Someone special?" Allison laughed and pushed my shoulder playfully as we walked down the hallway. "And then what did he say?"
"He just sort of turned red and fumbled about like he usually does - I mean, I thought it was a sexy thing to say, right?" I shook my head at her looking for some sort of agreement but instead she winced and chuckled slightly.
"I mean...it was bold"
"Bold...and sexy?" My eyebrows lifted - being good with guys was never my strong suit.
"Bold" She repeated and urged me further. "And then you just watched him practise?" My head nodded at her. "There was no scandalous sex in the car or a passionate make out?"
"There was some kissing.." I trailed off.
"But no sex?" Her eyes narrowed.
"No sex"
"God! You guys kill me, really. I have no clue how you haven't jumped his bones yet, I mean with me and Scott it was...." Stopping herself, she shook her head and turned back to me. "You have a lot of willpower"
I let out a big laugh and grabbed her arm, locking it with mine. "Patience, it's called patience. You know what they say...good things come to those who wait"
Her eyes rolled. "Yeah, yeah - just you enjoy that virginal outlook on life while it lasts. Soon you won't want to wait anymore"
Her finger came out to tap me on the nose but I swatted it away, pointing at the girls locker room doors. "But you know what can't wait?"
Following my gaze, she let out a large sigh - we had both been dreading this for weeks now. "Cross Country"
The smell of the boys wafted through the vents that were perfectly placed along the side of the walls. I tied my hair into a tight ponytail and pulled my red Nike sports bra over my head.
"Let's go Ladies! Stop looking in the mirror and get your asses outside!" Coach's voice echoed through the room and grabbed my water bottle, heading outside to find Allison again. At least we could gossip while we ran.
"Oh my god, it's like a testosterone parade out here" I jogged up to her and she pointed to all the guys, including Stiles, Scott and Isaac stretching and running on the spot.
"Talk about try-hards" My hands tightened the band in my hair. "Some of them have an unfair advantage which is.."
"Unfair?" She leaned in.
"Exactly" I looked over at Scott and Isaac, who seemed to be having a very heated discussion - Isaac looked like he was about to murder somebody, but then again that might've just been his face.
"3, 2, 1!" Coach shouted at everyone and then blew his whistle signalling it was the start of the run - well, it was a race. But there was no way in hell I was even in with a shot, so for us, it was a jog. "Let's go people! Cmon!"
Isaac shot off ahead of everyone that had fallen behind, he wasn't doing a very good job at looking normal. Scott was equally doing a horrific job as he tore off behind him, eagerly trying to catch up.
"Maybe they're having a race" Allison breathed out beside me and nodded to the two boys who were now no longer in view.
"This isn't exactly the best time to do that sort of thing" My legs dragged beneath me as we ran over all the fallen leaves on the track.
