"What the hell are you meant to do with all of these?" I scanned the books in front of us, there had to be about 50 or more, and they all looked incredibly old and dusty. God, why couldn't someone have created a Bestiary on Google Docs or something.

"All of us" Scott held two up, handing them to Stiles and me. "Are going to be speed reading them, and hopefully find something about what's going on with you"

I took the book and turned to Deaton, who was flipping through one himself. "Do you have any idea what we're looking for? Any special words? Anything at all?"

Looking up from his page, he made a face that didn't really tell me anything I wanted to know. "I have a few suspicions, and there are a few legends that match up with what you've been going through, but we don't know anything for sure just yet"

"Helpful" Stiles shrugged next to me. "Very helpful"

"I'm trying my hardest" Deaton assured and I let out a big sigh, jumping up onto the counter and slinging my bag over my shoulder, placing it down next to me.

Opening the book in my lap, I nodded to the Vet again. "Could you at least give us a nudge in the general direction of things we should be looking for?"

"Alright" He paused. "Look for anything to do with a rebirth of flames"

"Okay" I smiled, scanning down to my book. "Easy. Just a rebirth of flames. Easy stuff"

"Easy stuff?! This isn't easy!!" I threw my ninth book onto the floor and curled up into a ball on the cold counter, my eyeballs were sore from all the pointless reading. "I don't think we're going to find anything, we're nearly done all the books"

It was now dark outside, I didn't even know what time it was really - all I knew was that we were getting absolutely nowhere and we were running out of time if I was going to be of any help with all the sacrifice stuff.

Stiles, who had been asleep next to me for the past hour, jumped up out of his slumber and fell onto the floor, his book falling after him and landing right on his head.

"Ouch, that was sore"

"Really?" I deadpanned. "Maybe if you were actually helping rather than taking a nap we would be a little bit further forward than we already are"

"Which is?" His eyebrows rose.

I nodded, admitting defeat. "Not very far"

"Look, we're almost at the end of the pile of books, so we finish this and then it's back to the drawing board" Scott slid off the metal table and picked up another book titled 'Ancient Mythology'. "Even though the drawing board doesn't even really exist"

"We'll get there" Deaton reassured us. I trusted him, yes, but he seemed to be knowing more than he was letting on and it was really grating on my nerves.

"Deaton, is there not any way that you can help us figure it out? You seem to know things so please, for the love of god put us out of our misery...I think I might gouge out my own eyes if I need to read another page"

"Wait" Scott held his hand up before Deaton could respond. "You might not need to"

"Thank god!" My arms flew up into the air in victory and we all turned our attention to Scott, who was placing a book down on the table and highlighting a section with his fingers. "A power thirsty heat entity that is immortal and born in a rebirth of flames..."
