My eyes shot open to the sound of floorboards creaking outside my bedroom. Hushed whispers travelled under the door to meet me and I knew something was wrong. Gently pulling myself out of bed and quietly towards the door, my hand gripped the handle quietly and I was ready to attack whatever was posing the threat.
Yanking it open and launching myself onto the body in the hallway, I high-pitched scream rang through the air and I immediately snapped up, grabbing their head and pulling it back to meet my own gaze.
"Isaac?" I let out a sigh of relief and realized that Isaac and Scott were stood together. "What the hell is going on? You know it's like 3am, right?"
"I'm aware" He groaned from underneath me. "Could you get off me please?"
"Oh" I slipped off and leaned against the wall - I was only wearing shorts and a vest. "I'm waiting for an explanation"
"Well" Scott started. "We're away out"
"Out?" My eyebrows rose. "For what?"
"Food", "A walk" They both spoke in unison. "A walk for food"
"Is that so?"
"Yes" Scott nodded. "Now if you don't mind we'll be on our way and let you get back to whatever it was that you were doing"
"Sleeping" I stated. "Because that's what you do at 3am"
Isaac scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Indeed"
"You shouldn't be too late, you have that Cross Country thing tomorrow, remember? Or do I need to remind you of every little thing that goes on in your life"
Melissa was thankfully on night shift tonight, otherwise I think she would have killed all three of us for interrupting her sleep.
"No, I remembered that"
"That's great" I smiled. "You know what? I'm actually feeling quite peckish myself, so I think I'll join you - and then someone can pluck up the courage to tell me what you are actually doing"
I think they both knew there was no point in arguing with me, because soon enough we were all in my car on our way to fight the dreaded alpha pack - I was kind of excited.
"Do we have a plan?" I looked over at Scott who seemed significantly less excited than me. His head shook slowly and I let out a sigh. "Okay, no plan"
Isaac's head popped through the middle of the seats. "My plan is not to die"
"Okay, I guess we're winging it then" Scott's face screwed up beside me as I followed the GPS and I knew he wasn't telling me everything. "What are you not telling me?"
He shuffled nervously in his seat. "We sort of have a plan"
Pressing my foot down on the brake, we skidded to a stop on the road.
"What are you doing?!"
I faced him. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me exactly what's going on"
"Okay" He reluctantly nodded. "It was Derek's idea. We're making a move before they make one first, Boyd and Cora will be there too. I'm not asking you to fight with us, that's why I never said"
