Rosa yanked Dude's hand from her mouth, spat on the floor and shoved her away.

"I can't drink your dad's beer because he'd be mad, but you can spit on his floor?" Leslie complained.

"Her hand tastes like salty cheese," Rosa scrunched her nose and spat some more.

"You humans really have no manners!" Dude huffed.

Leslie took a big gulp of the beer. "So, what? We just wait here until morning or something?"

"Yes, precisely," Dude shuffled away from Rosa.

"Alright, who's up for some pool?" you grinned.

You watched as your friends' chests steadily heaved up and down. Leslie had passed out first, but Rosa and Dude were more weary of each other and took a while to fall asleep. You checked Leslie's phone, which displayed 04:29 in thin white letters. The phone flickered, but you didn't hear the footsteps. A frantic knock made you fall of the bar stool. You levitated back up and shook Dude and Rosa.

"Grr, what the fuck [Y/N]..." Rosa grumbled.

The flashlight flickered anew and the knocking got increasingly louder and more frantic. Rosa shot up into a sitting position. "Shit, where's the gun? [Y/N], where's the gun?!"

"I thought you had it!"

"Shit, okay, okay," Rosa massaged her temples. The knocking only got louder as you heard the rhythmic beat of footsteps nearing your hiding spot. "Okay, [Y/N], be ready to chuck the pool table at whoever's at the door!"

Leslie stared at y'all, dazed and confused.

"The monster's going to find us if that person doesn't stop knocking!" Dude teleported to the entrance.

"No wait! We're not prepared-!" Rosa sprang up and rushed to the stairs, but she was too late. Dude opened the door. Bro dashed past her and tripped on her way down the stairs, landing on top of Rosa. She screamed, causing Bro to scream. Dude slammed the door, teleported to them and covered their mouths. "SHH!" she shushed them, loudly, before the flashlight gave out completely. The ground under their feet shook as the booming footsteps approached, so much so that the flat screen TV dropped from the wall and cracked.

The pounding came to a halt. The creature was likely very close to Rosa's house. Everyone was frozen in place. You thought you could hear the creature's heavy breathing above you, but you couldn't be sure. Something above you creaked, then several things crashed. Glass breaking, something definitely punching through a wall or two and you all jumped when something big was slammed against the basement door.

Then suddenly it all stopped. The heavy pounding turned into light thumping, and then it went quiet. The flashlight turned back on, illuminating the floor where you'd dropped it.

Dude pulled her hands back from their mouths and teleported to the sofa.

"Sorry," Bro mumbled as she pushed herself up and dusted herself off. Her sailor moon cosplay was still on (just as you were still wearing the goth bear costume), but it was covered in dirt and dark stains. Only one of her gloves were on.

"You wrecked my house and now my parents are going to kill me!" Rosa screamed, then slammed her hand against her own mouth when she remembered the monster.

"Like, I did?" Bro seemed confused.

"The monster heard your knocking," you pointed out.

"Shit, omg I'm so sorry," Bro slapped her forehead.

"How the hell is 'sorry' going to fix anything?!" Rosa tried to keep her voice calm, but it was clear she wanted to scream. Her face was deeply red and a couple of veins were popping out.

"Bro, where were you?" you floated over to her and telekinetically pulled her from her knees. She stumbled a bit as you let go of her. "Okay, so like, this is gonna sound crazy but hear me out!"

Everyone stared at her in silent anticipation. "I got kidnapped!" she said.

"Bullshit, that's total bullshit," Rosa mumbled.

"I'm not lying! I'll tell you all about it in the upcoming flashback chapter!"

Rosa's eyes widened. "Wait, no! That's my thing!"

Bro jumped on top of the pool table and began her speech. "It all began as I was taking a shit in Rosa's bathroom..."
