I couldn't resist more cat-Lloyd! So here are a few scenes! It's part two to No Room To Swing A Cat.
Bell the Cat = Meaning: Take on a difficult or impossible task
Example: Who will bell the cat and take on the job of reducing corruption in this country?
******Nya rubbed her eyes tiredly. She had been working all night trying to find the goons that had changed Lloyd into a cat but they were more experienced than she realized. They had cleaned their trail well. Too well. So well that Nya was startling to think they weren't the simple thugs the ninja had assumed they were.
A meow turned her attention to someone outside her door. It was closed and Nya did not attempt to open it. She knew Lloyd would be upset to see her sacrificing her sleep for this. Another insistent meow sounded. Nya held her breath and hoped he would go away. She was in no mood to deal with the scolding glare of a cat.
After a moment Nya thought her plan had worked but then a scrabbling noise erupted from the other side of the door and two paws slid beneath the door, flying around like they were trying to grab something.
Nya's eyebrows flew up as she stared at the ridiculous flapping of paws. Nya snorted but stood up and opened the door. Innocent green eyes stared up at her.
"Alright, you got my attention," Nya grumbled. Lloyd shoved his way into her room and jumped lightly onto her desk.
It was odd to see her friend, her brother, as a cat. She couldn't talk to him the same way or see his goofy smile. Nya's sleep-deprived mind no longer had the energy to hold back the sadness and frustration. She tried to blink away the tears as she sat down at the desk.
Lloyd was watching her, eyes narrowing at her distressed state and glaring at the computer screen like it personally offended him.
"I'm sorry," Nya sobbed, covering her face with her hands. "I'm sorry."
The stress was piling onto her and the waterworks were coming. There was an anxious mew but Nya ignored it. She hated herself for being like this. Lloyd didn't need to see her cry. Why can't she just get it together?
A head bumped under her hand, pulling it from her eyes. Nya blinked in confusion when Lloyd rubbed his head underneath her palm and looked at her expectantly. Nya hesitated to pet him, feeling a little weird about it. She didn't go around petting human Lloyd that often other than the occasional noogie. Cat-Lloyd was demanding, head-butting her until she gave him a scratch behind his ears.
A purr rumbled from the feline and Nya gave a wet laugh as Lloyd rolled over only her laptop, shutting it and obnoxiously laying across the device.
"Look at you, being a mean little kitty." Nya snickered, tickling his belly. Lloyd tilted his head at her innocently, and for a second Nya almost thought he was smiling.
*****
"Don't let him leave!"
Zane looked around in confusion as a streak of white tried to get past him. The nindroid frowned but placed his foot in front of the cat before he could escape. Lloyd hissed at the master of ice but it broke off into a screech when Cole plucked him from the ground. Now that Zane could see him better he became aware of the large odd-smelling stain over his fur.
