Harry's POV

I stand in front of an, for now unknown building. My new school.
It's January but I had to switch schools because my old school stopped my scholarship through savings and Debbie, my stepmom didn't want to spend money on school for me.
She usually calls me waste of space. Luckily, I got a scholarship for another school, a few towns over. She didn't care that I have to ride my bike more than 10 miles. I just hope that I'm gonna make at least one friend. At my old school I didn't have friends. It's not that I was bullied but everybody had their group of friends and I didn't.

So here I stand. I turn off my music, One Direction by the way, walk inside and go to the office. It's not crowded at all but I am 30 minutes early so that I would have enough time to find the right classrooms.
One of the office workers comes over so I tell her my name and that I'm new.
She gives me my schedule and shows me around. I'm in class 5B. She has just showed me my locker and we are on our way to my first class, which is English literature when a group of boys runs through the hallway.

'Noah, Oliver, William and Elijah, don't run in the hallways. Noah, come here.' The office lady yells.

One of the boys comes over and looks at me. 'What's the problem?' The boy asked.

'Noah, you can't run in the hallway. You know that, plus, I need you to show Harry around today. He is new in your class, be nice.' The office lady tells Noah.
She continued but now directed at me: 'This is Noah you are in the same class, so when you switch classrooms, just follow him. You know where the bathroom and your locker is and when you need something else, you ask a teacher, one of your classmates or you come to the office.'

'Thank you' I say to her, then I start running after Noah because he just left to our first class without saying a word to me.

We arrive at the English literature classroom just in time for the teacher to arrive. She points to an empty desk at the back of the room. I'm almost there when I trip over a leg.
Everyone laughs. Noah put his legs back under his desk before the teacher sees it.
'The day couldn't start any better' I think to myself. 'It's the first day, and it's already worse than at my old school.'

I go sit and take my books and my red notebook (rednot). Rednot is my notebook where I write poems and draw ugly doodles. I don't use it for school.
The teacher starts with the lesson, but I can't focus, so I start putting random words on an empty page of rednot, then puzzling the words into sentences that make sense. It's an easy way to start writing a poem if you don't really have any ideas.
The loud ringing sound of the bell pulls me out of my thoughts. I put everything in my backpack and follow the rest to the next class.

Finally, I arrive at my last class of the day. Music. I really love music; I really like singing but not in front of anybody. Everybody always laughs at my voice. I don't like my voice. When I walk inside the music room the teacher introduces himself to me as Mr. Deakin. He tells me that he is the titular of class 5B and if I have any problems, I have to come see him. I thank him and take my seat.

'Okay everybody' Mr. Deakin starts the class. 'As you probably already noticed, we have a new student. Harry, could you tell us a few things about you so we can get to know you?' He continued.'

'Hi, I'm Harry, I'm 15 years old and I have 1 older sister, one stepsister and one stepbrother. I like listening to music and I like a lot of different sports. Not any good in both tho.'

'Thank you Harry, so today we will learn about different kinds of string instruments.' Mr. Deakin stars the lessen.

I'm looking outside of the window while thinking. Mom was a flutist in the national orchestra before she died. She could also sing really well play violin and piano. She told me how to play the violin when I was 5 and the  piano when I was 11 but when she died and Gemma and I moved in with dad, there wasn't any room for instruments, so I stopped practicing. Now I can only do the basics.

Just like that, the day was over. I got my bicycle and started my journey home.

When I got home, it was really quiet. Dad was like always still at work but Debbie, Mike (my stepbrother) and Amy (my stepsister) should be home. It is almost 17.30.
I go to my room and start my homework. It is really easy but also a lot because they gave me extra work in every class to catch up. Not that I really need it but that's life if you are new at a school.

It's 20.30 and I just finished my homework. I'm still alone witch tells me they went to pick up dad from work and went to dinner afterwards. Speaking of, I'm pretty hungry. I go downstairs to the kitchen and make some pasta.

Its' 22.00 when they finally arrive home. Mike fell asleep in the car. He's only 8 years old. Amy is 15, almost 16 so she's only a year younger than me.
Gemma moved out 3 years ago when she turned 18. She lives now with one of her friends from college. I wish I would see her more often but she is busy with studies and work. She was the only one who was there for me after mom died, but she was too fed up with Debbie controlling her live. I am too but since I'm not yet 18, I'm not allowed.

The next morning it is 06.00 when my alarm goes off because I have to leave at 07.00 to arrive on time at school. At school I go quick from class to class, hoping Noah and his group of friends don't trip me or something else. When school finishes, I go home, do my homework, eat and go to bed.

The grind of the school day, yeey.

Every day is the same. I hate it. At home, nobody notices me except when they need me. At school, I wish nobody noticed. Every day gets a little worse at school.
