Chapter Twenty-Five: Chasing a Rumor

Kyan's POV

You exit after giving Y/N the map. Clementine leans against the van looking away from the Walmart with her arms crossed.

"Hey." you say.

She doesn't look at you, "Hey."

"I understand your angry, I am too."

"I'm not angry, I'm furious." she shakes her head, "He said he wanted to change what his hands do to people, but all I've seen him do is the same thing. Go out and risk his life."

"I can't run away with my tail between my legs. I'm not going to be useless again."

Y/N is standing there watching the two of us.

Clementine walks up and pushes his shoulder, "This is our chance to leave! Why are you being so stubborn!"

"Because I don't want to see you dead with your chest ripped open!"

Clementine takes a step back.

Y/N looks down, "Or a hole in your head...."

"It's not- "

"Gonna happen? I'm not taking that chance, fuck that."

Clementine edges towards Y/N grabbing onto his vest, "I'm not losing you. I can't, I just can't."

"You're not. I'll be back."

Clementine hugs him, "Please, just come with us."

Josephine steps out of the Walmart, "Y/N, you- "

"You fucking bitch!" snaps Clementine pulling out her new bat.

"Hey, easy." Y/N says grabbing onto Clementine.

"It's because of her isn't it! She's making you go!"

"It's my decision to go."

Clementine gives her the death glare Y/N is all to familiar with.

"Clementine, it has nothing to do with her. I can't let the Boss go on with his plan."

She still stares down Josephine.

"If you wanna settle things, I'll show you what this bitch can do." says Josephine.

Y/N glares back at Josephine, "Shut up, before I let her go and she beats you with that bat."

Josephine scoffs crossing her arms.

Y/N pulls Clementine into a hug, "I love you, Clementine."

"I.... love you too." Clementine says with a lump in her throat.

Gunshots ring out and multiple voices call out in the distance. Y/N pulls Clementine away to defend her. Clementine's hat is knocked off in the process. Y/N gets her into the van as everyone else rushes in after her. Y/N grabs the hat.

"Take it, for luck." says Clementine.

Y/N nods, "I'll give it back when I see you."

 You peel out of the Walmart leaving Y/N and Josephine alone.

Y/N's POV

You put on the hat and get into cover with Josephine.

"That was my girlfriend you were threatening."

"I- "

"That was your one warning. Do something like that again, especially to her, I'm not afraid to kill you."
