Chapter Thirty-Five: ......Lead To Conflict

Kai's POV:

"Grab what you need Kai, we have a meeting with Vanguard to go to." says Alec standing by the door of your house with Emory.

You walk into your room and pick up the mysterious hat.

'Take it, for luck.' you hear a feminine voice say.

"For luck."

You put it on your head and feel a calming sensation wash over your body. The hat makes you think of Emory, but just like before you think her eyes should be lighter. It's still too hazy to remember faces from before.

"You coming Kai?" Alec calls out.

You walk out of the room with the hat on.

"I dig the hat Kai, a little dingy though."

"I can get it fixed."

"We can go to the Dean's Alterations after the meeting." says Emory.

You nod and head out the door with the group. You feel much more confident wearing the hat. Almost like someone very special to you gave it to you.

Emory begins walking next to you, "Why did you put on the hat Kai?"

"I think someone before gave it to me for luck."

"You haven't figured out anything else from your past?" asks Alec.

"Unfortunately, no. Sometimes when I touch objects I'll hear voices."

"That's kind of spooky." says Emory.

Alec nods, "Let me know if you do remember anything else."

"I didn't know you cared so much Alec." you say.

"You're part of Vanguard now, and my teammate. I just want to make sure you don't lose your head out there."

You reach a church with more Vanguard members walking in.

"We use the church to hold meetings." says Emory after seeing your confused look.

"There wasn't a better location?" you ask.

"It's a stone throw away from the school. The King doesn't have to travel that far if she must give an announcement."

"I guess that makes sense."

You take a seat in a pew with Emory and Alec and wait for the meeting to begin.

Clementine's POV:

You start to grab what few belongings you have at your old house and place it in a box.

"You sure it's a good idea to live with Kyan?" asks AJ.

"We'll have more space there. You can get your own room too."

"I don't want my own room. I want to stay with you."

You chuckle, "Ok goofball. Go get the rest of your stuff."

AJ walks out the room and you go through the drawers making sure you didn't leave anything. You turn your head to the hallway hearing footsteps approaching fast. Your smile fades seeing Louis standing in the doorway.

"Clementine, I heard what happened." he says out of breath.

"Go away Louis." you say shutting a drawer not looking at him.

"Why are you mad at me?"

"Remember Y/N going back for you at Vernon?"

He nods looking down.
