Hello, everyone! I've spent some time during my vacation over the last 3 days writing this one shot. I feel like there's a lot of dialogue, but maybe there's not? I also feel like it might be rushed, but it is a one shot.

Anywaaaayyy, this is a bit of a role reversal. Toni is a mother of two kids and Cheryl is best friends with Sweet Pea and Fangs, and very gay. Toni is 26, Cheryl is 24.

Cheryl was cruising down the interstate in her 1967 cherry red Ford Shelby Mustang. She had recently bought it at an auction, for a steal, and it was in immaculate condition. Some old vehicle enthusiast had died and none of his children or grandchildren were interested in keeping everything. It was the car of her dreams.

She wouldn't call herself a vehicle enthusiast, but she was pretty obsessed. Her best friend Sweet Pea - the only mechanic she trusts - had gone with her to look at it the day she bought it. She even had customized tail lights that had little cherries on them so that when they lit up, all you saw were red cherries.

So here she was, going 120 miles per hour down the interstate, where at a certain speed, everything looks the same. The blurry green on the pine trees help her meditate when things in her life are always changing.

Her rock music is blaring through her speakers as the cars engine revs down the road, in fifth gear. She looks down at the speedometer, wanting to go faster, to see if she's dead or alive. When she was having a rough day, she found she just needed some four-wheel isolation, and now that she had spent $500,000 on her dream car, she really couldn't afford a vacation. At least not the vacation she wanted.

She pushed down on the clutch, shifting into neutral as the car gradually slowed down before she shifted down into third, as she passed the sign that said, 'Welcome to Riverdale: The Town With Pep!'

Pep my ass. There's nothing peppy about this town.

Shifting into second, she pulled into the parking lot of Pop's diner, next to her best friend's motorcycle and her other friend's classic Camaro. That's an argument for a later time, she thought to herself, looking at the other car. She turned the engine off and opened the door, adjusting her red, leather jacket. Her red biker boots hit the gravel as she started her walk into the small diner. She quickly found her friends sitting in a corner booth in the back.

"Damn, Cher. That's a nice ride!" Fangs said as he stood up to hug his friend. "Pea was just telling me about it. I can't believe you got it for half the price most people are selling those things for."

The two sat down, with Cheryl facing the door, next to Sweet Pea, always people watching. "Yeah, it was a really good deal. I bought it almost immediately after I saw it go up for auction. I couldn't pass it up." She told her friend.

"She's right," Sweet Pea said with a chuckle. "She called me immediately and dragged me with her. She didn't even give me a choice."

"You left out the part where I bought you food and beer. You're welcome." The redhead teased, getting a laugh from both men. "Anyway, Fangs, you graduated college. What's next?"

"Well, I honestly have no idea. This isn't really the town for a graphics design major. I'll probably do some freelance stuff. I was going to hit up Archie about some logos for his gym. Maybe make t-shirts and a website, and stuff."

Sweet Pea gave Cheryl a grin and looked between her and Fangs before saying, "Cheryl actually bought more than a car, and might need your help with a logo."

"Oh, no. What did you buy this time?" Fangs asked. "Tell me it wasn't the school."

The redhead scoffed and said, "As if. Hell no. I bought a garage." She smiled. "And I hired Sweets as a mechanic and manager. I'm calling it 'Greased Lightning'."
