A Halloween to Remember

Takes place where episode 7x11 ends

Hello, and welcome to a Choni one shot. I started writing this last week, and definitely forgot about it. Oppsies. But it's here now :)

Cheryl still couldn't believe it.

She had really been brave enough, and in the moment enough to kiss Toni Topaz -another girl- in front of almost everyone they went to high school with. Truthfully, Cheryl's not sure how she did, or how she was still standing afterwards.

But the clapping and cheers that she heard over the music, and the feeling in her stomach, along with the smile onToni's face made everything worth it.

And now...well now Cheryl was sitting in a booth at Pops, on a double date with Midge and Fangs, of all people, with Toni by her side. They were holding hands under the table while everyone finished their milkshakes. They were all mentally and physically exhausted from their performances, mixed with spilling their hearts out to each other.

She was truly happy for the couple and the little cherub that Midge was carrying in her belly. She wondered if Toni would be the godmother. It only made sense, considering her and Fangs were best friends.

They all talked for a while longer, Cheryl just enjoying the feeling of Toni's soft skin beneath her hand.

Fangs and Midge had gotten up to leave, offering a ride to Cheryl and Toni. Cheryl suddenly realized that she couldn't go home. She had told her mother that she was staying at Evelyn's, along with the other Vixens. But she had told Evelyn that she was sick.

What was she supposed to do now?

"Hey," Toni whispered. Cheryl wasn't sure when they had gotten out of the booth and had gone outside into the chilly October air. "Do you want to stay at mine tonight?"

Oh.

They had never stayed over at each other's house before; for obvious reasons on Cheryl's part. Her mother would never allow a Serpent into her house, nevermind a Serpent whose skin color is different from their own.

Her hands were in her jacket pocket as she thought it over. Really, she had nowhere else to go. She quickly explained her situation to the other girl and added, "Will your Nana mind?"

Toni shook her head and smiled. "Nah, I'm the favorite grandchild. Plus...I already told her about you."

Cheryl felt like she couldn't breathe. It was as if someone had grabbed a fistful of her lungs and squeezed so tightly. And Toni noticed, because of course she did.

"She's okay with it. You have nothing to worry about, beauty queen."

She smiled at the pet name, and the little smirk on Toni's face and said, "If you're positive."

Toni smiled wider and linked their arms together, walking them to Fangs' car.

She had never been on the Southside before. Her parents always said that that's where the hood rats lived. The criminals.

But Cheryl wasn't quite sure why her parents said those things. She couldn't see much with it being dark, but the houses looked home-y from what she could see. There didn't seem to be trash laying around, or homeless people sleeping on a street corner.

It was becoming more and more clear that Cheryl couldn't believe a word that her parents ever said.

Soon after, they had pulled up to a small house. Pulling into the driveway, Fangs and Midge both turned around in their seats to face them.
