I was in my room listening to the usual arguments that happen between my mom step dad and jamal

"I told you the shit aint mine why you always up my neck yo" i heard jamal yell

"Jamal lower your voice hes only looking out for you" my mom said

"Bullshit he care bout me " jamal scoffed

"Ion want you to end up like yo deaf beat father"

Thats when i got heated and swung my door open me and jamal started going off getting all in his face

"Li calm down he aint even worth it"

I calmed myself and followed jamal in his room and he was packing

"Jamal where you going"

"Imma be back li i gattah handle my own and get my life together dont let that niggah bring you down ill be back for you aight" he kissed my forhead and walked out but i followed him

"Jamal please dont leave me i need you here" i cried out the door

"You independent baby girl ill be back i promise..i let you something on my dresser li i love you"

"I love you to" i closed the door my eyes burning i went to his room and it was my dads gold chain on his dresser it had a picture of me and jamal on it from when we was little i helled it to my chest and cried in his bed the rest of the night

I cant believe he left me he was all i haf left my moms to busy in my step dads face to even notice us anymore so jamal was my parent he raised me after my dad died

I woke up and went to the bathroom to get ready for school my eyes were puffy and red i got dressed in some jeans and a hoodie

Jamal usually takes me to school so i guess i gattah ride the bus

I put on some shades to hide my swollen eyes and went down stairs to eat
Then the door bell rung
I opened the door and stare when i seen it was august

"You ready ma?"

"Ready for what" i said low

"For me to take you to school..jamal stopped by and told me to keep and eye on you lil mama"

I smiled weakly "okay let me grab something to eat first" i grabbed a granola bar and a powerade and left out with him

AUGUST POV

I never seen her like this i kinda felt bad

"You okay li-aliyah" i tried not to call her by her nickname cuz jamal calls her that

"Yeah im fine" he just stared out the window

I put my hand on her thigh "im hear fo ya aight anything you need just ask ya hear meh"

"Yea aug thanks" he hugged me and got out the car

"Ill be hear when you get out aight"
She nodded and walked im the building

When i was 17 i lost my brother too at least hers still alive but i feel for her i do
I just dont want her to be depressed

Its HARD TO LOVE when the people you love keep leaving

I walked in to my locker with my head down grabbing my books

"Liyahh" i heard amari call

"Hey" i said low

"Whats up with chu" i looked concerned

"Nothing ion wanna talk about it" i walked off to my class

I tried to focuz but i couldnt all day all i thought about was not being with my brother anymore

"Aliyah?" The teacher called on me

"I didnt raise me hand" i got an attitude

"Well can you answer the question"

"No i cant if i knew the fucking answer i would have raised my damn hand stupidass" i said to her

"Excuse me young lady do you need to leave"

"I would love too" i grabbed my books and walked out with a smile

I couldnt be hear in these people face i needed to leave so i text august

-hey can you come get me

-i just cant stay here or imma go ballistic on these people

-lol alright ma im coming

I waited about 10minutes untill aug texted and said he was outside i wAlked out the back so i would get caught

"Thank you so much i feel better already"

"No problem lil mama" he began to drive

"Where we going?" I asked

"Where you wanna go"

"Ummm idc as long as no one get on my nerves"

He chuckled " well we finna go by my sista house so i can see my nieces soo"

"Kids dont bother me aug...we can go"

"I wasnt talking bout the kids i was talking bout mu sista" we both chuckled as he continued to drive
