Florence
Normally, the holidays were my favourite part of the year. I loved the decorations and being close to our family and friends for a period of time. However this year, I had more nerves than ever.
I've always been a family person but my career and Harry's often got in the way of that. That's why I loved days like Christmas, birthday parties and weddings, they brought our families closer to us.
Harry and I have had the same routine over the years. We would celebrate Christmas back at Harry's, get back to Los Angeles for a party on New Year's eve that one of Harry's best friends threw annually and then eventually we would visit my family in January, in Italy.
My Nonna and Nonno lived in Tuscany, they had a beautiful vinery and plenty of guesthouses on their field. I couldn't wait to see them again and sit by the fireplace late at night with a glass of wine and my family.
I just hoped I wouldn't have to go to Italy without Harry.
But I was thinking way ahead of time. Right now, we had just landed in London and were waiting for Harry's two siblings to pick us up.
We hadn't really said that much on the plane, the flight was pretty long and both Harry and I were pros at sleeping on a plane. Four days ago we were fighting and since then we haven't really talked about us. We slept in the same bed but there was so much space that a third person could lay between us. Harry would often fall asleep on our couch to, which would give me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Harry was set on giving ourselves the space we needed, to figure things out. He was out most of the day, telling me he would be at the studio or somewhere else whereas I was gone most of the time to do Christmas shopping.
I was always in charge of buying gifts and I did not mind at all. Especially now that he wanted to give us space. I couldn't sit at home on my own so shopping was the best option. I was sure his siblings would love the presents I had bought for them but I was nervous to give his mother the gift I had planned.
I actually had two gifts for his mother, in case she wouldn't like the first one. She had a charm bracelet and every pendant resembled someone close to her. I had a pendant made for her charm bracelet with Storm's fingerprint on it, so I was scared to give it because it would probably make our Christmas more emotional than it should be.
"Are you nervous?" Harry asked me quietly, hiding his face into a thick scarf. I nodded in response and looked up at him. His green eyes held concern and normally he would be hugging me right now but he refrained himself because of the 'space' he wanted. But I really wanted his arms wrapped around me.
"The gift for your mum, I don't know how she will react," I explained and then proceeded to tell him what the gift was. His eyes widened in surprise at the mention of our baby boy and then a soft, thoughtful smile crossed his lips.
He reached for me, his hand landing on my back as he spoke: "I'm one hundred per cent sure that she will love it."
"I also got you a gift," I trailed off, watching how his eyebrows raised again in surprise.
Right when he was about to respond, we heard our names being called out. Gemma and Mia were waving at us excitedly. I looked over at Harry with a soft smile before I walked towards them and hugged his two older sisters.
"Florence, it's been so long!" His eldest sister exclaimed, making my heart ache. The last time I had seen his oldest sister was a week after our gender reveal. She couldn't make the small gathering that night but still wanted to see us and came to visit us a week later.
