IN ORDER TO GROW, WE NEED TO LET GO

"Kamusta yung mga thesis mo? Do you answer it all?" Tanong ni Bry, my boyfriend since senior high.

"Mamaya na. Diba may date tayo?" I encircled my arms around his. He chuckled and pinch my nose before pulling me inside his car.

We both ate in a fastfood chain at gumala paikot sa mall. Hinatid niya ako ng mag-alas sais na ng gabi.

"Thank you for today. I love you," I said and bid a goodbye. He smile and kissed my forehead before leaving.

I did my thesis that night but it's just that, the time is too short to finish it and I ended up finishing the half of it. My groupmates and my teacher scolded me. My parents was disappointed on me. Bry is the only person I can lean on.

"Do your homework para hindi ka na ulit bumagsak." He caressed my hair and give me a warm smile.

"Gala muna tayo. Pwede pa naman iyon mamaya,"

I failed, again. Failed to save my grade. I thought it easy to just make it up but my teacher said that I couldn't even I try. Uulit ako ng 2nd year on college.

"Break up with him! He's no good to you! You failed because of him!" My mother shouted.

I can't... I can't but I need to so I broke up with him. We both cry as we bid our goodbye to each other.

"For the last time, I love you.." He hugged me and kissed the top of my head.

After those years of falling down, I finally made it on top. Finally made my parents proud. Finally, got my dream.

Maybe that's my fate. Maybe that's our fate.

I stare at him as he inserted the ring on my finger. He waited for me. I guess, maybe it's my true love.

I just realize that not everything will stay for you. Hindi lahat kaya mong hawakan. You need to let go first in order for you to grow and when you succeed to grow, you can hold it back. Chase it back.
