"This really was a good idea, Sparrow." Emma complimented as she lifted up her shirt. "Using tablecloths.
"If I hadn't thought of it Norman would've," I replied honestly. Norman giggled.
"I would've taken a little longer though, you beat me to the punch," Norman said.
"Sorry about that." I climbed the tree and put the bag of cloth in its hollow.
Ray should be eavesdropping right about now.
I gasped as an idea came to mind. "You two, wait here for a moment and be quiet.
I hopped onto a tree and jumped around silently where Ray was from a five-meter radius. He was staring in the direction where I had exited, probably wondering what the hell I was doing.
I silently crept upon him, then picked him up bridal-style in a quick swoop.
"aaAARgh," he screamed. A satisfied smirk plastered itself onto my face.
"What in the world does this little emo think he's doing, spying on us?" I asked with a giggle, rocking him in my arms. "Were you too shy to say hello?" I continued, trying my best to not die of laughter.
"PUT ME DOWN!" He yelled with a red face. Was he that mad?
Norman and Emma looked confused.
"H-how long was he there?" Emma asked, dumbfounded.
"Almost from the start," I responded, letting the princess walk in his own heels.
Norman looked at Ray with a 'Now you know how I feel' face on. Ray groaned.
"Sooooo, what were you doing there?" I inquired, squishing his cheeks. Now that I think about it, wasn't Ray originally the one supposed to put pressure on Emma and Norman, not the other way around? I shrugged at the thought.
"Sturpppp," he muffled. I let him go. He rubbed his cheek, with his face still red. "Emma and Norman were acting weird. And you told me you didn't make it, but Little Bunny wasn't with you. You three clearly saw something at the gate, no matter how good Sparrow is at acting. So cough it up!" He demanded, putting me and Emma into a headlock.
"Ray is smart too after all," Emma said.
"Your perceptive," Norman commented.
"Awwww, was emo worried about us?! You shouldn't have!" I teased. He scoffed.
"So?"
Emma looked at Ray seriously.
"Can we ask for your help?"
Ray nodded.
.
.
.
"Demons... A farm... Mama is an enemy?" Ray looked up and let go of his face. "Isn't this bad?"
I choked. Honestly, sometimes Ray could be really dumb. At least try to look surprised.
"He catches on quick!"
"So you're saying that we are preciously taken care of to become demon food," Ray summarized.
"I mean... Why are you believing us so quickly?" Emma asked.
"Of course I would. Norman wouldn't make up such a stupid lie. You and Sparrow on the other hand..."
I coughed loudly. "Would not."
"So, if we were to really escape, we would have to discuss various issues. First the number of kids. If we narrow it down to who can make it then-"
