"But I'm surprised," Norman admitted as we walked down the hallway to the dining hall.  "It's expected from Ray, who read all the time, but..."

"It's unexpected from Emma and Sparrow," Ray completed.  I swear the way they finished each other's sentences was adorable.

"I read, you guy's just don't see me," I said.  And stop being cute, it makes me want to fangirl. I added in my head.

"It wasn't me who noticed them, it was Phil,"  Emma explained. "Phil found them and told me."

"Phil?" Norman asked.

"Yeah.  He was reading a children's book and it was one of Minerva's.  It was a book that had Morse Code in the story."

We reached the dining hall, and Emma noticed something missing.  "Where are Don and Gilda?" Emma asked frantically.

"They're not here," Norman said, opening the door to an adjacent room.

"They can't be...!" Emma cut herself off as she turned around, sighing in relief when she saw Don and Gilda walking down a hallway.  "Don, Gilda.  Thank goodness, I thought you'd..." Ray walked ahead and tilted his face up to Don.

"Where were you?" Ray asked.

"The kids are watching..." Norman muttered.  " Let's save this for later."

"So?" Ray instigated.  The six were gathered up in the dining hall, Ray and Sparrow were leaning on the wall, Norman was behind Emma, and Emma was sitting down.  Don and Gilda sat down across from her, Gilda with a guilty look on her face, and Don with an irritated face.

"We went into Mama's secret room," Don said.

"How?" Emma asked.

"Don stole the key," Gilda replied.

"From Mama?"

"And did Mama...?" Norman started.

"I don't think she noticed.  We already returned the key, too.  So probably..." Gilda trailed off.  Ray tsked.

"You did something really stupid!" Ray spat.  Gilda whimpered at his tone.  "What would you do if that room was equipped with either a camera, a bug, or an alarm?!  If Mama or Sister found out, you two... no all of us would be-"

"Tell us what would happen!" Don snapped back.  He looked to Emma.  "Would we get killed?  We found Little Bunny in Mama's secret room.  So much for your "I don't know" and "let's go save them."  Can we even go save them?  Because Conny... Conny and everyone else is...!"  Emma gasped, then got up and bowed her body, making it perpendicular to her legs.

"I'm sorry," Emma apologized.  "I'm really sorry!"

"Then, they're really..." Gilda gasped.

"See, Gilda?  They were lying after all!"  Don leaned into Emma who was still bowing. "What are you hiding?  Tell the whole truth," Don commanded.

The two stood straight, then Emma and Norman made eye contact, and Norman nodded.  He took a deep breath in.

"Demons? A farm?"  Don clarified, hoping what he heard was wrong.

"No.  Just to be eaten..." Gilda whimpered.

"And you're a spy?  This whole time?"

"It was for our sake," Norman corrected.
