Pre-Apocalypse; At barley a few months old her mother was deemed unfit to take care of her. With her biological father being the only fit caretaker she was shipped off from Washington to Georgia. Not long after Merle took Daryl and her and moved out to spare her from their father's abuse, Merle quickly gaining custody of Scarlett. Even as a baby she had been quiet, rarely crying. As she grew up she turned to art to escape the harsh reality of her life. Many nights Daryl would find her passed out on her bed with her clothes covered in dry paint without even having bothered to at least grab a blanket. She had been half way through getting her Masters degree in Fine Arts. She had been offered a scholarship and had been visiting home when the apocalypse started.
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.
