Perilous~ Carl Grimes

Chapter 1

"Isaac? ISAAC!" I screamed but there was no response. I was out in the woods alone my brother and sister no where in sight. "Addison where are you guys?" I yelled again this time on the verge of tears. I heard a ruffling noise and got hopeful, but as I looked up all I saw were two walkers approaching me. I reached for my knife but it wasn't there. I started to panic and soon everything around me was spinning and the walkers were closing in an-

"Wake up!" I felt myself being shaken. I sprung up from my previous position realizing it was only a dream. There were no walkers no nothing. I also noticed I was in a place that looked like a hospital with a girl who couldn't be no older than eighteen standing above me.

I didn't say anything just yet I just took in my surroundings. I looked down at my arms and noticed I had an IV and a bandage around my wrist. My head was pounding and as I reached up to try and relive some of the pain the unknown girl grabbed my good wrist and put it back to my side

"You can't touch your head yet, I don't want you to rip your stitches out." she said standing up and walking over to the counter to open something. She came back seconds later with two pills in her hand.

"Thanks?"

"Beth"

"Excuse me?"

"My name is Beth." she smiled handing me a water bottle

"I'm Kennedy" I smiled back and reached my hand out

"Its nice to meet you Kennedy." she grabbed my hand and shook it

"What is this place and why am I here?" I asked curious as to why I seemed to be the only one here out of my siblings

"Your in a hospital or a place kind of like a hospital I don't know really. Some how this was one of the only buildings that survived when the outbreak first occurred and the people here try to help those in need." She sighed "They have medicine and fresh food too."

"How did I get here?"

"There was some sort of fire at a so called sanctuary. They found you on one of the roads back there about a week ago."

After she said that everything that happened came crawling back to me. My brother, sister, and I were out on our own since pretty much the start. We lived a little bit outside of the city so we had our home in tact for about a year before things got real bad. One night the three of us were coming home from a run to find our house raided with walkers

My mom and dad were no where in sight and we couldn't stick around to try and find them it was to dangerous so we went our own way and where alone until we saw a sign on the railroad tracks that said sanctuary for all. Those who arrive survive. The place was called Terminus. But it couldn't be farther from the truth.

When we got there they separated me from my brother and sister and put me in a room with a couple other people. A couple days past and still no contact with my siblings me and another girl decided to walk around because the leader Gareth trusted us. What we saw was indescribable and what happened next was even more terrifying.

"Kennedy" Beth said snapping me out of my thoughts "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I was just thinking" I admitted

"Do you want to talk about it" she asked placing her hand on top of mine making me feel safe. even though I just met her she just seemed like one of those protective girls.

"I was just thinking about my brother and sister. Isaac and Addison, I was with them before I go here. When we got to Terminus that's what the sanctuary was called we got separated and I have no idea what happened to them." I said feeling my eyes begin to tear up

"How old is your brother and sister?"

"Isaac is eighteen and Addison is twenty two."

"She's close in age with my sister Maggie." She smiled

"Where's Maggie?" I questioned

"I actually don't know. I was in a group we lived in a prison for awhile until it got destroyed. We all got separated I was with a man named Daryl and let me tell you about him" she laughed before starting again "Complete asshole, but once you truly get to know him he's a softy who has feelings too."

"Sounds nice." I have heartily smiled "Since pretty much the beginning its been the three of us."

"What happened to your parents?"

"Um I really don't know we came home from a run one night to find our house full of walkers with our parents no where in sight. What about your parents where are they?"

"My mom died before the outbreak and my dad was killed by the guys who destroyed our prison."

"Beth I'm so sorry" I said with sympathy placing my hand on top of hers like she did previously to me.

"It's fine. It is over with it makes me sad every day that their not here but if I think about it to much then I won't be able to focus on the world around me and if I don't focus it could get me killed." She said and I nodded in agreement

"Listen I gotta go before Dawn gets moody, but try to get some rest and I will check back on you in a little bit okay?" she asked standing up and walking over to the exit

"Okay." I smiled and then she smiled back

"Oh and Kennedy." she said and I looked up at her "We will get out of here I promise. This place isn't as great as I may have made it out to be." She stated and then walked away leaving me alone with my thoughts.

ALRIGHT SO YAY I UPDATED FINALLY!!! I HOPED YOU LIKED IT.. BUT AS A FAIR WARNING THE NEXT CHAPTER OR TWO IS GOING TO BE MOSTLY ABOUT KENNEDY AND BETH BUT I WON'T DRAG IT OUT TO LONG I PROMISE I ACTUALLY MAY SPEED IT UP IN THE NEXT CHAPTER!! BUT ANYWAYS THANKS FOR READING :):)):):):)
