Lilly gulped as she glanced in between the two adults across her seat. It was as if one could hear a single needle falling to the ground and it'd have the same impact as the titanic crashing to it's end. Truly, it was even worse than before! She couldn't help but wonder what had happened... Everything was going so well too. Well as good as it could go.

"Uno." Vash then spoke in cold manner as he laid down his second last card. "Oh....! You finished so fast, mister!" Hubert exclaimed and looked at the six cards remaining between his fingers. Vash was almost a bit proud of himself to show off in front of two children but his joy left as quickly as it came. The two children had played their cards so when Roderich laid down the next card he couldn't help but to huff.

"Pick up four." The Austrian spoke and let his finger remain of the stack of cards for a while as he thought of a color to choose. ".....blue." Vash could've ripped his cards apart right then and there! How come blue was the only color he didn't have?! Grumbling he picked up another card and thus gave his signal for Lilly to lay her card. "Uno!" She exclaimed happily now and Hubert was a bit surprised. How come he was this bad at such a simple game?! When he played with Roderich usually he'd always win.

They continued to play for a while and eventually after Lilly's hard efforts the mood lightened up again a tiny bit. She felt like Vash and Roderich were interacting somewhat normally now and smiled to herself in relief. She had feared for Vash to be thrown out of the mansion in just the first three days of staying here even if she hardly could see her father be this ruthless. How things were...maybe that would be a first regarding Vash. Suddenly Roderich stood up and shook her out of her thoughts. Did she miss something?! Was he angered?! She was already guessing the worst but exhaled in relief once she saw he only went to pick up Hubert who had silently fallen asleep without any notice. "I think it's already quite late, maybe we should all go to bed following Hubert's example." the brunette spoke and glanced at the two with no smile but a warm attitude regardless. During the game he had felt the tension between him and Vash sink so he believed he could at least act like nothing had happened.

Lilly had gone to bed in her own room, Roderich had strangely enough prepared a room for her since seemingly years ago, Vash didn't understand that but if Lilly was more comfortable with that he wouldn't question it too much. He himself moved his bags into the guest room down the hallway a bit tired. After cracking the door open and finding total darkness he slid his hand along the wall until he found the switch and flipped it around. If he hadn't already set his bags down at his feet he probably would've dropped them. A guest room?! This?! This looked more like a king's suite than anything else! There was a double bed standing in the middle of the room right beneath the big arched windows. A chandelier hung down from the ceiling decorated with crystal shaped glass shards which shone and twinkled in the light like it was the crown of the queen herself. All the furniture inside the room reminded him of something he had seen a long time ago but he couldn't quite figure out from where. At the foot of the bed there was even a cushioned bench having seemingly the sole purpose to be able to sit down comfortable when putting on shoes or socks. Who needed such extravagant things? To him it looked like this room must be the most impressive in the whole house, maybe to impress guests? He didn't think Roderich was the type to do such things. Being this dazzled of the room's ambiance he didn't notice the few photographs on the desk of the other side of the room and the scribbles on paper in black ink. He didn't even notice the toothbrush in the glass next to the sink in the bathroom. Everything was so clean and in order it didn't look habited to him.

Exhausted as he was he put his bags on the soft silken bench and huffed a bit. Rummaging through his belongings for a bit he dragged out the pink pajamas Lilly had made for him a long time ago and carried them to the bathroom. He was quite dazed now being alone for a while. The only thing he could hear was the sound of the wind banging against the windows and seemingly begging agonizingly to be let in, not that Vash paid any attention to it. After a quick shower and rinsing his hair he took the folded towel laying on a chair and dried himself off. When was the last time he showered with warm water? Since it was his own warm water he didn't want to pay, the blonde usually preferred quick cold showers in the morning but this time...exactly because it wasn't his money and Roderich had more than enough to spare, he had showered for a good fifteen minutes. His muscles felt like they had molten and his cheeks were flushed. The warmth sure had burnt through his cold demeanor he liked to show and even seemed to have tickled something deep inside of him. He shook his head and tried to ignore it as he dried his hair off without care and flung the towel over the chair in an effort to dry. He was too tired to do it properly, he'd have more than enough time in the morning.
