Part 13

Chris looks at Ashley who fell asleep on his chest and he brushes her hair gently and then kisses her head and he says in a low voice. "hey, babe wake up." She opens her eyes and says as she looks at his eyes. "Hey, Handsome" He kisses her lips and then says. "Hi." She sits up and says as she rubs her eyes. "What time is it?"

Chris looks at his watch and says. "It's a little after 5 in the morning" Ash looks at Chris and smiles at him. He says as he leans closer to her. 'What are you smiling about?" She says as he leans his forehead on hers. "I am just so blessed to have you in my life, and I still feel like I am dreaming being here, with you and, being married to you and I just-" He kisses her lips softly. He pulls away and brushes his thumb on her lip and she looks into his eyes and says ."What did you do that for?"

He says with a grin "What was what for?' She says. "Kiss me." he leans in and says with a smile. 'If you want." he kisses her and she pulls away and says as she giggles. "No, Chris, I was asking why you kiss me even if it's early in the morning and I haven't put my makeup on yet, you still love me, why is that?"

Chris smiles at her and says as he brushes her hair away from her face. "I just do, why?" She shakes her head and says as she walks into the kitchen. "Just wondering."

She grabs a cup of tea and Chris turns the tv off and he lays back on the couch and shuts his eyes again. She smiles at him and says. "Sleeping again?" He says without looks at her. "Hmm just shutting my eyes for a bit darling."

She smiles and says. "Okay." she heads into the bedroom and opens her laptop and pulls her books out and She gets and text from her dad asking to meet up somewhere to talk. She sighs and sets her phone down and gets on to her work.

Ash looks at her book and says as she looks at the work on her laptop and then back at the book. 'What is this crap?" She looks at the laptop and sighs and then says as she grabs her shoes. "I need to take a walk."

She heads downstairs and sees Chris passed out on the couch still. She smiles and grabs her jacket and walks outside and she puts on running songs and goes for a jog. Her mother texts her again asking to call. She dials her mother's number and says as she jogs. "Hey, mom, what's going on?"

Her mom says. "Honey, I just wanted to see how you're doing. I haven't heard from you since the wedding."

Ash stops and says as she takes a breath. "I am ok mom, Just busy with work and Chris is busy with his life." her mother says. "Jake told me about what mike did to you, are you okay?"

Ash says as she nods. "I am okay mom, just a bruise." She runs and says. "Look I have to tell you something and I am glad you called."

She stops and says. "When I passed out the day before I got married, I wasn't with a lack of water, mom I was pregnant, and so...I am sorry-"

Her mother says. "I am going to be a grandma!!? Oh Ashley that's wonderful news." Ash looks down and says as she tries to not cry. "Mom, I lost the baby a month ago."

Her mother is silent and then Ash says. "It was a boy too, and I just wished I was strong for not just me but for Chris, he has wanted to be a dad and then this happens and I don't know if he can forgive me."

Her mother says. "Honey you are so strong...and I am so proud of you telling me and I know Chris understands what you are going through and Honey, just talk to your husband and ask how he really feels about this, don't hide your feelings from him, ok?"

Ash nods and says. "Yes, I get it mom, thanks." Her mother says. "Why don't you and Chris come down to Fl and stay a few days. I am sure you both could use it." Ash says as she walks to the house. 'I will let Chris know, thanks."
