What About Us?

Part 28

Chris and Ashley get off the plane and Ashley gets a text from Scott asking where they are. She texts her brother-in-law saying.

Ash: We just landed, Chris is getting our bags we are at terminal B. Right by the library.

She looks over at Chris who is talking to someone about their bags. Ashley walks to Chris and says as she takes his hand in hers. "Hello, is there a problem?" Chris looks at Ashley and says. 'This man said our bags didn't get here, they are still in DC! Shit!"

He walks away and runs his hands through his hair and Ashley says. "Look, could you check your data? I thought we had them in the plane with us?"

The man does a few clicks and then says. "I'm sorry Ma'am but they said your things are in D.C still, I can try to have them rush them here if that's okay." Ashley taps her lips and says. "Thanks that would be great."

Ashley sees Scott and she waves at him. Ashley walks to Chris and says. "Scott's here, they are putting a rush on our things, Honey don't worry so much." She looks at him and he nods and says with a frown. "Okay, I just don't like waiting."

She smiles and says. "I know, Come on, I really want to see Aden." They walk hand in hand to Scott and he says. "Welcome back you two! How was the trip? Ashley hugs him and says. "It was great, I miss our little guy though."

Chris smiles and says as he rubs Ashley's back." It's all she thought about last night." Scott says with a wink. "Oh...I see."

He looks behind him and says. "Um, I think he's okay, just a bit fussy but he's a kid so nothing new." He laughs and Ashley says. "What are you looking around for?" Chris says. "Yeah man, you seem kinda nervous about something, is everything okay?"

Scott says. "Yeah just looking around." Ashley sees Lisa in the corner of her eye and Lisa is pushing a stroller and Ashley takes off towards them. Chris says. "Ashley?!" Lisa smiles and

Ashley hugs her and says. "Thank you for watching him."

She pulls away and looks at Aden who is smiling. Ashley picks him up and says. "Hey buddy, I'm here now." Chris walks to them and says as he gently places his hand on Aden's head. "Hey, Ma I didn't know you'd be here." Ashley kisses Aden's head and roks a bit to keep him calm.

Lisa says with a smile. "Oh Chris, you knew I wouldn't have it any other way." Ashley smiles and Chris kisses her head and Aden smiles at them, Ashley looks at Aden and says. "yeah, daddy's here too."

Chris takes Aden in his arms and says. "Hey Aden, did you miss us?" They walk to the car and Scott says. "I'll drive, Ashley, and Ma can be in back with Aden if you want." Ashley smiles and Chris says. "Does that sound good honey?" Ashley nods and says. "No worries."

They get in and Ashley looks at Aden who is looking at her. She smiles and plays with his little hands and Lisa says. "He was a sweet little guy when you two were gone, How was the trip?" Ashley says. "It was wonderful and nice to have time to ourselves. " Lisa nods and says. "Sounds good,"

Chris says. "We had a great time...I won't say anything else or Ashley will kill me." Ashley smiles and says. "You know it!"

He laughs and they get home ten minutes later. Ashley gets out and Lisa says. "Scott, can you take me back to my place?" He nods and says. "Sure thing Ma." They say goodbye and Ashley sees a car by Chris's car. She says. "Honey, who's car is that?" Chris has Aden in his car seat and he picks Aden up and shuts the car door. He says. "That's Stan's car."

Ashley glances at Chris and he says. "Don't worry, Let me go in and see what he wants." He hands Aden to her and she nods and says. "Be careful."

Chris nods and walks into the home. Ashley keeps Aden calm and she hears Chris walk back out five minutes later and he says. "He invited us to a party, no worries darling." She bites her lip and says. "You sure?" He kisses her head and says as they walk into their home. 'I'm sure."
