I look at the rest of the group and they don't stop him.I run after him "JJ wait" I say but he doesn't stop. "You alright?" I ask. "I'm sorry" he says and I go confused. "What,why are you sorry?" He stops to look at me. "I-I just-"

"No,I didn't come here to scold you,I wanted to say thank you" I say and he looks at me shocked. "Thank you?wait,your not mad at me?" He says. "No,of course not" I say and he smiles. "Your bleeding" I say looking at his arm where he had fell something must've cut him.

"Oh it's nothing" he says looking down at his arm.I move his shirt over a little and see that it's bigger than I thought,I gasp. "Shit" he mumbles.

"I have a first aid kit at my house" I say instantly regretting it. "That will work" he says and I nod.

We start to walk towards my house.I stop before we get into my driveway. "Umm,we kinda have to go through the window" I say and he shrugs and we keep walking.

We climb up to the window and I hop in my room. I lead him to the bathroom.he sits down on the toilet seat and I grab the first aid out of the cabinet. "Take off your shirt" I say he's hesitant at first but then continues to do so.

"Why did we have to come through the window?" He asks I don't look at him and instead just find the right stuff in the kit. "Umm I kinda 'ran away'" I say and his eyes go wide. "Why?" He asks and I turn to him holding a wipe to clean his wound.

"This might sting" I say ignoring his question and slightly dabbing the wipe on it.he hisses and with his other hand he grabs onto my waist as a reflex.I don't do anything about it,and honestly it's fine.

"You always ask me all these questions,but how about you?I barely ask you questions" I say throwing away the wipe. "Umm,you don't wanna know about my life" he says with a dry chuckle. "Yeah I do" I say looking at him for a while but he just shrugs. "Fine I guess we can take turns." He says and I nod.

"Who do you live with?" I ask my first question. "My dad,whats your favorite color?" He answers shooting back another question not skipping a beat. "Lavender,how do you know Barry?" I ask cutting to the chase.

"Umm my dad..kinda is friends with him" he says and I nod reaching for a gauze. "How do you know Barry?" He asks me.

"Umm my dad..kinda is friends with him" I say copying his answer putting the gauze on his arm and wrapping it so it stays. "What do you do for fun?" I ask. "Surf" he answers and my heart sinks knowing that that was the thing I did for fun also. "Why did you run away?" He asks.

I chew at my bottom lip for a while. "My dad,he um,well I got home late and told him I was surfing.he got mad and burned my surf board,I got mad and left." I say,he frown and stands up.he pulls me into a hug and I'm shocked at first but then hug back taking him in.this feels good.

"What makes you the happiest?" I ask still holding him. "My friends,what makes you the happiest?" He asks me back and I wait for a minute,I guess I never really thought of anything like that,what does make me happy?

He pulls out of the hug and looks at me realizing how long I'm taking to answer. "I-I don't know" I say "what's your biggest fear" I ask him just above a whisper. "Turning out like my dad,what about you?" he answer and I frown. "Not being good enough" I answer shortly.we stare in each others gaze losing track of time as everything slows down.we start to lean in our noses are touching and my eyes flicker down to his lips.

"We should probably go" I whisper "we don't have to" he answers with a smirk and I smile. "We need to" we pull away and smile.he throws his shirt back on and we climb back out of my window and walk to John b's.

We get there and the group is on the front porch. "Hey,you" Kie says and I walk over to her leaving JJ and sit by her. "You alright?" She asks us and we both look at each other then back at her and nod. "Welp,me and Lacey should head out,I heard it was gonna storm tonight and my parents don't like when I'm out in it" Kie says standing up in which I follow her motions.

"Bye guys" I say and they stand up and give us both hugs. "See you tomorrow" JJ whispers to me in the hug I pull out and nod at him.

I'm sitting on kies bed. "So,tell me about you and JJ" she says and I look at her confused. "What do you mean?" I ask and she rolls her eyes. "Your so oblivious" she says with a chuckle. "Nothing is going on,and anyways I kinda just met him" I say and she shrugs. "A lot can happen to you in just a week" she says and I fall back on her bed. "Believe me I know" I say with a dry chuckle.

"So nothing is going on?" She asks again. "I don't know" I say honestly. "Well let's start with how he makes you feel" she says.I look up at the ceiling. "Kie I'll talk about it later,I've had a long day and I'm tired" I say and she nods understanding and we go to sleep.

We wake up to birds chirping. "Shit" I hear Kie say. "What?" I ask. "I have a shift at the wreck today" she says. "Oh well you can drop me by my house" I say and she frowns "are you sure" she asks nervously.I shrug,I had no other option. "Yeah" I say with a smile.

We get in her jeep and she drives me to my house after I tell her where to go.
She drops me off and I stand at the door.I take a deep breath and open the door.

"Sweetie your back." I hear my mom say she walks to me and gives me a hug.I don't try and hug back and instead walk to my room walking past my dad who is probably only happy cause now he doesn't have to do the dishes.
