Knocks on my window

I hear a knock on my window and I flinch.I look over and see JJ.I walk over to the window and open it. "What the hell are you doing" I ask. "Come on" he says and points over to the docks. "So we are just climbing in peoples window now?" I ask him walking over to grab my phone.

He chuckles and we climb out and run down to the docks laughing.I see the rest of the group and we get in the boat and ride around.

We get board of riding and stop at a dock and watch the sun set.my phone rings and I see my dad calling "uh let me take this" I say to the group walking to the end of the dock and putting the phone to my ear. "Where are you?" He says in a stern tone. "I'm with some friends" I say. "I need you to drive me to Barry's."

"Why can't you drive"

"Cause I don't want to Lacey dammit!" He shouts through the phone. "Ok,ok I will" I say "I'll be over in a second" I hang up and walk back over to the group. "I have to go but I might see y'all later" I say. "Everything okay?" Pope asks.

"Yeah,my dad just want me home" I say with a smile whole JJ and kie frown.

I wave bye and walk down the dock to my house.

I arrive at my house and see my dad sitting on the porch I frown.

"Come on" I say getting in the car.

We pull up to the house and I see the same man there with Barry. "Come with me" he says and I look at him confused. "Hey Lacey" Barry says and I give him a small wave with a fake smile.

"This is Mr.Maybank" he says pointing to the man beside him and I give him a small wave also.I look around and see my dad isn't where he was standing and I start to get worried.

"How old are you kid?" The man asks. "16" I answer shortly he nods his head.

"I have a son who is I think 16,he's a piece of shit" he says and I nod.I wonder who it is. "What's his name?" I ask quietly. "JJ" he answers and my eyes go wide.this is JJ's dad.oh gosh.

"You know that piece of shit?" He asks noticing my change in my facial expression. "He's not a piece of shit" I say. He rolls his eyes. "And what are you his little girlfriend?" He asks and I start fuming. "No,but I know your son and he's not who you say he is" I say getting a little louder when my dad walks out of the house.

"Hey,I just had to grab something let's go" my dad says. "Did you hear the way she was talking to me" JJ's dad explains. "He called his son a piece of shit" I say and my dad grabs my arm and drags me off the porch.

"You don't deserve him!" I shout at the man and he rolls his eyes. "Don't talk to me like that you little shit!" He yells at me as I try and break out of my dads grasp.it's not like I could do any damage anyways.

Dad throws me in the passenger seat and he drives us home. "What the hell where you thinking!you are messing with the wrong people!" He shouts at the over the light music playing from the car.

"I know his son,he's not what he says he is" I say looking out the window crossing my arms. "That don't mean shit" he says.

We arrive home and I ignore my moms 'hey sweetie,where you been' and run up to my room.I put a pillow in my face and scream into it.

Last thing I remember is looking over at the clock and seeing it was 6:00.

I'm waken up by a knocking sound.I sit up and look at my clock 11:00.jeez.I look over to where the knocking is coming from and I see JJ.I open the window. "JJ,what the hell it's like 11:00 o'clo-holy shit are you okay" I cut myself off by looking at his face to see a bloody lip and bruised cheek.

He doesn't say anything and climb through the window. "JJ,what-" I ask confused but he cuts me off. "Where is the first aid kit" he asks.going into my bathroom.

I walk in and grab it and he opens it.he digs through the kit trying to find the right stuff.I see that he's getting frustrated and starts to throw stuff around and his breathing speeds up. "Hey,hey,hey,I got it" I say taking it out of his hand. "Sit" I say and he sits on the side of my bed and I sit the kit beside him.

"JJ,what happened" I ask he huffs. "Dad came home mad" he says and my heart sinks.he was mad because of me.my lip quivers,I did this to him. "Hey you alright?" He asks me noticing my change in mood. "I'm so sorry"

"No it's fine you didn't do anything" he says.i then pull him into a hug catching him off guard.I sniffle and he pulls me away. "Lacey?" He asks. "I'm so sorry you didn't deserve this" I say his face relaxes and I turn around to throw away the dirty wipes and a tear falls from my eye.I quickly wipe it and turn back around.I look at JJ and see his face again and can't help but feel guilt swallow me whole.

I walk back over and take the first aid kit and put it back.in my bathroom.I walk back over and JJ stares at the ceiling. "You can stay here if you want" I say and he looks at me. "Are you sure?" He asks and I nod.he smiles and lays down and I follow after.

"Goodnight JJ" I whisper
