I lay on the bed in Dr. Lucy's clinic, as she rubbed some jelly onto my bare, swollen belly. I was five and a half months pregnant by that time, and we were about to find out the gender of our baby. Our excitement had no limits.
Ethan stood by the bed-side, his eyes not leaving the ultrasound screen. His hand engulfed my small one, occasionally giving it gentle squeezes. I already had quite some idea of identifying sexes through ultrasounds, and before the doctor could tell, I already could, and if I was right; I was very emotional and delighted.
"Is it a girl?" The words left my mouth as my eyes took in the image of our baby on the screen. Ethan's eyes snapped to mine, gleaming with glee, asking me if it really was so.
"That's right," Dr. Lucy grinned. "Congratulations. You're having a baby girl."
A happy chuckle escaped my mouth, and a blissful grin made its way onto Ethan's face, as he gave my hand a tight squeeze. "We're having a daughter, Ethan." I smiled with my teeth at him.
He kissed my hand excitedly. "I hope she's as beautiful as you, Anastasia."

My palms were shaking due to excitement on our drive back from the clinic. There was utter joy on Ethan's face too; his eyes sparkling with happiness were a sight to behold.
"I want to start shopping immediately, Ethan." I declared ecstatically.
"We know the gender now, so why not?" He replied.
"Right now?" I asked like a child.
"Yup. Heading to the mall."
"Um Ethan?" I chewed on my bottom lip sheepishly.
"Yes, love?"
"I'm suddenly craving pickled cucumbers." I confessed, and he chuckled heartily.
"Shall I grab you a jar and you can satisfy your cravings in the car?" He said.
"That sounds awesome. I'm also craving chocolate pastries though."
"That's an odd combination." He commented.
"I'm pregnant, Ethan. Pregnant people have odd cravings." I reminded him.
"Alright, darling. Off we go. Getting you pickles and chocolate pastries." He declared, and I grinned at him with delight.

I was exhausted once we returned from our little shopping trip. There was still much time before I gave birth, but I couldn't wait anymore to take our baby girl in my arms.
Watching the cute, little clothes we bought for her, laid out on our bed, made me feel fuzzy inside.
Ethan massaged my shoulders from behind and placed a kiss on my head. "She's gonna be so pretty, like her mom." He said, rubbing my baby bump. I smiled, turning my head to look at him. "She's got to have your nose, remember?"
He laughed. "Right, right. My nose."
"These are so adorable, aren't they?" I referred to the tiny clothes sprawled on our bed.
"Absolutely.... Do you want me to put these in baby's closet?"
I nodded my head. I had ordered a cute, little closet as I couldn't help myself, and so far it was in our bedroom. "Since we know the gender now, we better start getting her bedroom ready."
"You're right."
"Ethan?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you have a name in mind?" I asked. He seemed to think for a few seconds, before shaking his head no.
"Do you?" He asked, walking back to me after having put the clothes in the closet.
I bit my lip, nodding nervously, wondering what he would think of the name I had in my mind, and if he would even agree with it. "It's an unusual one, I don't know how you would feel about it."
"Tell me, love. I believe you have all rights to name our baby, because you're carrying her, and going through so much."
"She's your baby too... I couldn't have done it without you."
He grinned, showing his pearly whites. "But you, my darling, are the one carrying her, and I know it's not easy at all. Besides, I don't have a name in mind."
His words touched my heart, spreading warmth throughout me. He never missed a chance to make me feel loved. "It's a Turkish name... you know I'm inspired by their culture and language."
He nodded his head, listening eagerly with a gleam in his eyes, anticipating. "It's Mihrimah." I said it slowly, watching his reaction.
"Mihrimah." He repeated the name slowly, testing it out.
"It means sun and moon." I told him.
A smile broke out on his face. "Mihrimah it is, then."
My face lit up. "You like it?"
"I love it. I hope she's as bright-fated as the sun and beautiful as the moon."
"Oh! You're the best!" I exclaimed enthusiastically, my arms shooting out to engulf him in a tight hug. He held onto me, chuckling, before kissing my neck.
I pulled away, watching him put his hand on my stomach and then placing a kiss on it. "Mihrimah, your mom and dad can't wait to hold you in their arms, my little girl."
I smiled cheerfully at his cuteness. "Babe?"
"Yes, love?"
"Do you think I look fat?" I asked. He shot me a stern look, before rolling his eyes at me.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Yes, I did. Spank me, mistress. I've been a bad boy." He said dramatically. My hand flew to cover my mouth in astonishment at what he said, before I started laughing, and he broke into laughter as well.
"You're unbelievable, Ethan Woods." I remarked, once I had recovered from my laughing fit.
"Unbelievably hot and dashing, you mean?"
"As if." I teased.
He raised an eyebrow at me. "Really now? Have you forgotten how many times this hot guy has made you come?"
I covered my face with my hands as a blush rose to my cheeks. "You're so full of yourself, Ethan."
"You're so full of cuteness." He remarked, removing my hands from my face and kissing them, before kissing both my cheeks.
"Will you still love me if become a whale?"
"A whale? I love whales, babe," He laughed, and I couldn't help but giggle as well. "Don't be silly. You're perfect to me. You're my superwoman." He kissed the back of my hand, gazing into my eyes affectionately.
I put my arms around his neck, breathing in his scent. "You're my superhero, Ethan."
