"How many times do I have to tell you not to get out of bed!" I chastised as Ethan appeared behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. He buried his face in the nape of my neck and breathed in my scent before leaving small wet kisses there.
"And how many times, my dear wife," he paused to give me another kiss. "do I have to tell you that I'm not handicapped."
I slapped one of his arms, freeing myself from his hold and turning around to face him, before giving him a stern look. Grabbing his arm, I dragged him back towards our bed.
He groaned. "Babe, please. I'm fine now. I'm tired of laying in bed all the time."
"And I'm tired of you being so stubborn all the time." I said, giving him a gentle push towards the mattress. He sighed deeply before complying and lying down, covering himself with the duvet.
"Also, if you ever again think of going on a secret mission to some creepy trafficking lair or whatever, I swear to God, I will end my life." I stated in all seriousness, glaring at him.
"You've been saying this for two whole weeks. Stop already." He complained. I put my finger on his lips, to which he darted out his tongue, licking it, causing a silly smile to spread on my face.
"I'm going to bring you a smoothie n- Ah!"
"Anastasia?" He immediately sprung forward, alarmed.
I giggled. "Relax, babe. It's just our baby girl being active today."
He reached his hand forward and rubbed my swollen belly with it. "Forget the smoothie. Come here." He said, pulling my body to his and wrapping his arms around me, securing me in place so that my back was on his chest and my legs were between his.
"Ahh! Ouch." More pained sounds escaped my mouth as Mihrimah kicked me a couple more times. I glanced at Ethan who had a panic-stricken look on his face.
"Relax baby. It's a good sign. It means our baby is doing good." I told him.
"Yeah, but it hurts you." He said like a cute little boy, making me giggle.
"I think our daughter takes after you. She can't stay put in one place." I said, smiling sarcastically at the end.
"That's a taunt, isn't it?"
"Absolutely. Hopefully, she doesn't go on mafia exposing missions without telling us." I glared at him.
He groaned. "Will you ever let that go?"
"Nope." I replied, popping the 'p' and rubbing my belly.
He sighed. "I've learned my lesson, okay? Next time, I'll definitely think a hundred times before doing such a thing, because honey, maybe our daughter is taking after you; you couldn't stay put at home either."
"You ungrateful little baby boy. You're alive because of me." I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Ungrateful little baby boy?" He raised both eyebrows at me before snickering.
I shrugged. "You're my husband, I can't use profanities at you."
He gave me an exaggerated kiss on my head, massaging my shoulders gently. "You're right. I owe you my life, love."
"I had to. Otherwise, I'd suffer a huge financial loss. Losing a rich husband." I joked.
He smirked, raising an eyebrow at me. "You do know, sweetheart, you would have inherited my business and my wealth had I died?"
I pretended to be surprised, putting a hand to my mouth. "Damn it, why didn't you tell me that before? ... No worries; I'll poison your next meal."
His chest vibrated as he laughed beneath me. A smile spread on my face as I relished the feel of his body and his warmth, hoping that I would never have to part with him again.
Zayn had been put behind bars after he had taken me to Ethan. Two weeks had passed since then. Even though the things he had done were despicable and completely unjustifiable, I couldn't bring myself to fully hate him. Maybe because I had always massively revered him and considered him as a brother, or maybe because he hadn't murdered my husband. But the respect and admiration I had always held for him made the whole thing more painful. I had considered him family. The worst betrayal is from your close and loved ones, after all. And to think, no one had harmed us more than the people we trusted.
Ariana was a heartbroken mess. Her wedding had obviously been called off. Even though she claimed to despise Zayn now, it was obviously not easy for her to move on. He was her first love. The first guy she had ever chosen to trust. He was also her first betrayal. Her first heartbreak.
Zayn claimed that his love for her was always true. He even begged her for forgiveness multiple times. Even if he was telling the truth, how could any of us believe him now? Selling girls as sex slaves, murdering people, selling their organs, smuggling drugs and so on, were extremely wicked and insensitive things.
Was such a guy even capable of love?
If yes, then why didn't his heart pain even once when he caused misery and suffering to all those innocent people?
"Anastasia?" Ethan's voice in my ear broke my train of thoughts.
"Yeah, babe?"
"Sing me a song." He insisted.
I laughed lightly. "What? Where is this request coming from all of a sudden?"
"I want you to sing me a romantic song." He whispered sensually, gently stroking my thigh.
"Mr. Woods, are you trying to get me in the mood?" I lowered my voice to sound seductive, yet playfully accusing.
"No pressure," he said cutely. "As for me, I'm always in the mood."
I tilted my head to raise an eyebrow at him. "Always, huh?"
"Only with you, though."
"And around other females?"
"Then it's like I'm impotent."
I laughed out loud. "That's hilarious."
"Sing for me, please." He pouted, burying his face in my neck.
"Which song?"
"Any song."
"Alright, but can we first address how something's poking my butt right now?"
"That's your fault for being so hot."
"Seriously, Ethan? How come you're turned on so easily?"
"Why don't you go look in the mirror, if you're really wondering." He replied, and I giggled.
"Wait a minute," he said. "Are you not randomly turned out by me?" He squinted his eyes at me, in a playful accusing manner.
"Nope." I lied.
"No?"
"No." I teasingly grinned at him, sticking my tongue out.
"Not at all?" He asked playfully.
"Nuh uh. You don't make me feel anything." I teased.
"Oh yeah? I think you're suffering from dementia at the moment. We'll see what you have to say when I have you screaming my name." He said sexily into my ear, causing shudders to run down my spine.
"Shhh," I chastised. "What if Mihrimah can hear your dirty talk?"
He gave me a 'what the hell' look. "I guess I'll go take a cold shower now."
I grinned before straddling him. "My babe, I don't think that's necessary. I know just how to take care of that bulge in your pants." I said seductively, before claiming his lips with mine.
