"We literally always watch October Sky."

"Well, we should get the hype ready for his next movie!"

"It doesn't even come out until next year!"

Tom grunts while crossing his arms with a pillow against his chest. You pout at him, but laugh at his scrunched expression. You're in his trailer for lunch break — he's filming Far From Home, which means Jake is on set. This is the first time you've come to visit him during filming (for this movie). You were excited, to say the least.

"We could literally just go down and say 'hey' to him instead of binge watching his movies like we're super fans."

"We are super fans." You deadpan before freezing. "Wait, did you say go down to see him? Like- as in- as in Jake?!"

Tom nods with a smirk, "We're friends, if you didn't know."

"Gee, thanks," You tilt your head and send him the side eye. "Can we really?"

Tom's expression softens and he sits up. "Of course we can, love." He pauses to gauge your reaction, "If you really want to, I can introduce you."

You squeal, bringing him into your embrace for the tightest hug he's ever endured. "You're fucking amazing." He blushes but luckily, you can't see it. "Let's go."

"Right now?"

"You said it!"

"I know, I know," His hands go up in defense and he lets out a hearty chuckle. Standing, he slips his trainers back on his feet before linking his right hand with your left one.

He leads the way, feet padding on the pavement while you rant about Jake's filmography. After discovering that Jake was having lunch with the directors rather than in his trailer, the two of you make your way on set, waving to the costume designers as you pass by.

Tom's knuckle comes into contact with the wooden doorway, knocking softly to alert the many people of his — and your — arrival.

"'Ello," He waves with his free hand, bringing a very shy you around the table. He receives a number of 'heys' and 'hellos' in response. Eventually, you spot Jake, anticipating where Tom is to sit, and you internally freak out. If you were anywhere else, you'd be fanning yourself until you weren't breathing like a crazed fan. Not only that, but Jake has a beard for the occasion of filming, and that makes him look older — and hotter.

Tom can sense what you're thinking when you squeeze his hand unintentionally. His jaw clenches but he strides over to Jake anyways.

"Jake, man, hey," they exchange smiles while you stand off to the side, waiting for when the time is right. "There's uh- someone I'd like you to meet," Tom brings you forward a bit, hand on the small of your back. "This is my girlfriend, Y/N. Y/N, this is Jake."

"Hi," He smiles brightly, offering an introductory hand. You accept with shaky hands, allowing him to shake your hand before they drop back to your sides.

"It's really nice to meet you," you speak softly, stumbling a bit and pausing when it isn't necessary. Jake chuckles, turning to Tom.

"A fan?"

"A big one," He assures him.

Jake turns back to you, "I'm glad. What's your favorite movie?"

"Oh, Zodiac for sure. But October Sky is really good — and the Day After Tomorrow. You're a cute nerd." You gasp, hand clamping over your mouth at the confession. Tom's attention is turned to you completely, eyes wide while he looks at you in bewilderment, jaw tight.

Jake only laughs, breaking the silence in a fit of wholehearted giggles. "Thank you, that's really sweet. What about Tom over here, though. Is he a cute nerd?"

Tom tries not to blush but he fails anyways, watching you as you respond. You reply with a sheepish shrug, "He's like, a hot geek but an adorable nerd, y'know?"

"Mhm," Jake strokes his beard while he nods enthusiastically. "He's something."

"Damn straight," You admit while staring off in thought. "Sexy genius."
