"By the way did you see how cool the chair fall was? Like I stood up and it just fell! It was like in a movie! So dramatic!" I babbled way too fascinated.
Steve rolled his eyes but still chuckled slightly. "Are you ever planning to grow up ..." he said, not actually expecting an answer as he picked up the chair and walked to the door.
"Growing up is a waste of time." I said as I followed him.
Steve shook his head, knowing that whatever he would say I would have a comeback to it.
He opened the door and let me go out of the room first. Then he closed it and turned towards me. "Meet me in front of the room 12 in 30 minutes. There are numbers above all the doors in the building so you should figure it out."
"Meet you Cap? Why?"
I turned around only to see Tony walking towards us.
"Fuck..." I mumbled underneath my breath.
Steve gave me a quick questioning look. "Because I'm going to help her - ..."
I stepped on his foot to shut him up.
See this kids? This is why we shouldn't lie. To avoid situations like this.
"... help me build ... a boat ...?" I swear, I almost slapped myself since that was the worst lie I ever came up with.
Steve looked at me even more confused as Tony crossed his arms and looked at me suspiciously.
"A boat? Why do you need a boat?"
I thought for a moment. Then I let out a quick laugh that was obviously just a cover up for my nervousness.
"Not a real boat of course! I meant a boat... from legos."Steve rubbed his eyes, probably to hide his face since he probably realised what was going on.
"So if I understand this correctly... you are going to build a boat from legos and you need Captain America’s help to do that?" Tony asked with raised eyebrows.
"Exactly!" I confirmed what he said with a big confident smile.
"We don't have any legos here though."
"What?! Really?! I can't believe it!" I pretended to be shocked and devastated. Then I turned towards Steve and put my hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry Rogers. Guess it just wasn't meant to be." I said way too dramatic and let out a deep sigh.
I walked away shaking my head. As I was a few meters away I turned around towards them, who were just standing there awkwardly.
When Tony turned his back towards me I quickly showed Steve thumbs-up and a big nodding smile since we handled the situation soOoO wElL.
He just closed his eyes and shook his head, probably questioning his life choices. His expression made Tony turn around to look at me.
I quickly turned away and speed walked to my room. Uff that was close.
In my room I switched my jeans with old leggings that I luckily brought with me. I expected that training for Avengers gang was going to be ... well ... physical.
Well I was wrong. Not entirely, since of course, there were LOTS OF hours of sweat and pain but the first few meetings with Steve....
"I'M HERE!" I yelled as I walked into the room 12.
"I SAID 30 MINUTES! IN FRONT OF THE ROOM!" shouted Steve, who was standing in the middle of the room well ... shirtless.
"I'm respectfully observing." I said, tried not to laugh and leaned against the door frame.
