Orphic ~ Mysterious and enchanting

I should. He deserves to know why I broke up with him. It's the least I could do. I take a deep breath, looking into his ocean blue eyes, "There's, um, this voice in my..head. Datura's voice. It's always telling me to kill, to return to HYDRA, and you deserve better than that. You have been through so much and you deserve happiness, a normal girlfriend. I can't be that. I'm just a weapon for HYDRA to use. Honestly, everyday I'm counting down until HYDRA comes after me."

Bucky chuckles and I give him a look, "Really? I pour my heart and soul out to you and you laugh?"

I start to walk away, but he grabs my wrist, pulling me back into him, "Sorry for laughing, but you realize I was also HYDRA's puppet? I hear the Winter Soldier's voice in my mind all the time. I can hear him right now. I don't want normal. This is gonna sound super cheesy, doll, but I want you, and only you."

I chuckle, "That is cheesy."

He presses his forehead against mine, "Well, since we're sharing, there is something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now."

I tilt my head slightly, "Yeah? What's that?"

He smiles, looking into my eyes, "I love you, Theadora Marie Rogers."

My heart stopped.

Time stopped.

Everything stopped.

He loves me.

HE LOVES ME!!

I grin, "I have something to tell you too."

"And what's that?"

"I love you too."

He grins, leaning in to kiss me, but I pull back, "You still got a girlfriend. We can make out after you break up with her."

He groans, "Fine. She went home. I'll do it first thing tomorrow. Night, doll."

I smile, going back to bed, "Night."

I woke up the next day to hear Daisy's shrill voice screaming and crying.

Today was gonna be a good day.

I get ready and wear a comfy but cute outfit, heading downstairs.

I make myself a cup of coffee when Daisy comes downstairs, her face streaked with mascara

I make myself a cup of coffee when Daisy comes downstairs, her face streaked with mascara. She notices me and glares, walking towards me, "You BITCH?! Who do you think you are?! I know he broke up with me because of you, you slut!"

She charged at me like a psycho. Is she forgetting I was an Avenger with super serum?

She tried to headbutt me but I put my hand out, holding her blonde head and body in place as she tried to charge at me. God, I really want to laugh at this.

Instead, I keep my cool, "Calm down. I didn't break up with you. Get out and deal with it. Suck it up. Be a woman."

I let go of her and she tried to charge me again, and I hold her head again, "Hun, I'm a supersoldier and a spy. You can't fight me. Leave before I fight back."

I let go of her head again and she patted down her blonde hair. She huffs and glares at me, before exiting the building.

That's one nightmare gone.

Bucky enters the kitchen as I sip my coffee. He takes it from my hands and chugs it down. I glare at him, "That was my coffee, douche."

He wraps his hands around my waist and grins, "Well you love this douche."

"I'm starting to second guess myself," I joke. I turn around to the counter, making another cup of coffee with his hands still around me, pressing me against the counter.

"I do have a question though."

"Hm?" I ask in response.

"Um...are we dating?"

I turn around to look at him. He was anxious and fidgeting with his hands.

Aww, he's nervous.

I smile gently, "I don't know. Are we?"

He smiles back, "Yeah. Yeah we are."

I kiss his cheek, "Good. Now, I have to go train Parker."

Peter sucks at fighting.

Sure, in his little Spidey - suit, with his little web thingies he did well, but hand to hand combat, he was absolute garbage, and I made sure he knew that.

I pin him down once again, putting my bowstaff against his neck, "Use your damn Peter-tingle. You are terrible at fighting. What happens when you're out of webs?"

Maybe I was being mean, but that was the only way the kid would learn. I get up, giving him a hand. He glares at me, "If you fought me with my suit, I would beat you."

I chuckle, "No you wouldn't. Even if you could, which you can't, you won't always have your suit. You and your shit are separate. It is a weapon and you're a person. Anyone can wear a suit. Look at Tony."

Tony and Sam walk by the gym. Tony raises a brow, "Im a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."

"Fine then. Look at Sam, he's useless."

Sam glares at me, "Hey!"

I ignore him and continue, "You need to become the weapon. Your suit should assist you, that's it."

He sighs, "Fine. You have a point."

"I know," I toss him a katana, taking one for myself, "Again."

He was showing improvement, but he wasn't there yet.

"Keep your back straight. Keep your legs planted, especially your back one."

Before he can fix his position, I hit the back of his knee with the butt of the katana, causing him to fall on his back.

"Stand your ground. Don't falter. Show no mercy. They won't show you any," I tell him.

Flashback, 1940, with HYDRA, before brainwashing

Angela took the katana and sliced the back of my leg open, "You are pathetic."

I wince in pain.

She continues talking in her thick accent, "Get up. Stand your ground. Don't falter. Show no mercy. They won't show you any. Again."

I stand up, slightly limping at my now bleeding leg. Here we go again.

Back to normal

I repeat what I had just said in my head and as I realize, I immediately correct myself, "Wait. Ignore that last part. That's HYDRA protocol. Not Avenger protocol. Um, no killing."

Hypocrite. How many have you killed? You're telling him to show mercy? When have you ever?

Shut.

Up.

Bitch.

"Thea!" Peter snaps his fingers in front of my face, waking me from my thoughts, "Um, are you okay?"

I shake my head, "Um yeah. Session's over. Remember what I told you. I expect better next session. I bought ice cream, also. Hide it from Vision. He always throws it away and says it's too unhealthy."

He nods and leaves the room.

I start cleaning up.

Do you want to know the worst part of having Datura always there with me?

I can't even do anything about it.
