Chapter 15

The second semester finally began and the basketball training got even intense as there are only 5 days left before the tournament begins

As Avyrain was getting ready to go to school, Kaleid's mother suddenly came to their house

"Is your mother inside?" Kaleid's mother asked

"Nope, she left a while ago saying she'll be back in the afternoon" Avyrain replied

"My gosh, what should I do?" Kaleid's mother uttered with worry all over her face

"What's wrong auntie?" Avyrain asked

"Kaleid is having a high fever and he's all alone in the house, I can't stay with him since I have an important appointment to attend" Kaleid's mother stated

"I see, then why don't you let the other neighbor take care of him if it's them then I think they would be willing" Avyrain suggested with Astrid in mind

"Good idea, how about you take care of Kaleid?" Kaleid's mother stated with a smile

"Huh no way, I still have to go to school" Avyrain immediately declined

"Oh come on, I heard you got excellent grades so it wouldn't hurt if you just skip this one time right?" Kaleid's mother stated

"Even if it's just for a while" she added with her doe eyes twinkling at Avyrain

Avyrain sighed as she said "Alright I'll stop by and make sure he is comfortable before leaving him"

"Thank you then I'll get going" Kaleid's mother stated with a smile as she walked away

As Avyrain was about to go inside their house, Kaleid's mother suddenly came back

"By the way I forgot to tell you, his whole day of practicing basketball intensely was the reason for his high fever" she stated then ran away

'What's the reason for telling me that?' Avyrain thought as she went inside Kaleid's house

As she got in, she roam around and looked for Kaleid's room

She knocked on one of the doors as she uttered "Kaleid, are you in here?"

There was no response so she tried to open the door luckily it was not locked

As soon as she got inside, what comes first into her sight was Kaleid lying on the bed with a heavy breathing and his eyes closed

Avyrain walked towards him and stooped down then she gently touched the towel that was on his forehead

"This was just placed recently, is there anything I should do?" Avyrain mumbled under her breath

Just then, a warm hand suddenly held her hand and Kaleid was looking straight at her

"Did you already drink your medicine?" Avyrain asked

"Is this a dream?" Kaleid uttered

Avyrain pinched his cheek as she said "As you can see, it's not"

"Then why are you here?" Kaleid asked gazing at Avyrain

"I came because your mother persuaded me to make sure you're alright, so did you already take your medicine?" Avyrain stated

Kaleid nodded his head as he said "I took it just now"

"Your mother told me that your fever was the result of your intense training, you should have balanced your sports and health" Avyrain stated

"Don't worry I'll get well soon plus I can't afford to lose all those hard work" Kaleid replied

"Why in the world are you even practicing day and night when you're not even bad at basketball, if anything else your skills are second to Valt when it comes to it" Avyrain stated
