After bathing I stood in the mirror combing my fingers through my wet, tangled, hair.

I was so embarrassed, but I couldn't stay in here forever. With a shaky right hand, I finally open the door.

"Zayne" I call out to him but no answer.

I look around the cabin, slowly creeping into the living room; I see his half naked body standing near the fire wearing nothing but sweat pants.

"My wolf was restless, I needed to run."

Without thinking clearly I reach for his glass and take a sip. I start to cough.

"Yeah, it's kind of burns going down."

Soon the awkward silence returns and we just stare at each other.

"Zayne...I don't know what I was thinking...when I asked you to mark me-"

"I'll do it." He says.

I immediately turn to him.

What?

Zayne turns towards me with a serious face, he repeats himself.

"I'll mark you; it's the only card we really have left. Once my scent is on you, it'll be a breaking point for his wolf. His wolf will have no choice but to start taking full control. I don't know why I hadn't thought of this sooner."

"Leah, please understand that I do have a mate out there somewhere and once I find her...I will claim her, even after I mark you, you'll become tied to me and I will always have feelings for you, but we can never be together. "

Taking in everything he said. Did I really want to start something I knew wouldn't last? I still wanted to get back at Randi. If he could claim someone who wasn't his mate why couldn't Zayne? Zayne will eventually find his mate.

I shake my head, I had no clue. Zayne walks closer to me, barely leaving any room between us and slides his hand around my neck and the other around my waist.

"It'll only work with our clothes off." He said hinting at the meaning. He pulls back and looks into my eyes for any hesitation or second thoughts I might have, but there were none.
