Her words kept repeating in my head.

He's my son?

"He can't be...I.... we," I stutter, lost for words.

"In this world we're mates. He created this reality as a way to deal with not being with us in the real world." She explains.

"How is this possible?"

I drop to my knees and caress the child's cheek.

"I love you daddy!" He smiles and hugs me. As much as I wanted to push the boy away, I found myself doing the exact opposite. I take in his scent which was combined with human and werewolf.

"It's Okay. I'm....I'm here." I whisper in his ear.

I chuckle, "What is your name young pup?"

"His name is Auden." Leah answered instead. "Auden!" She smiles extending her hands out for the child.

"Run and find mommy the sweetest berries in the woods!"

"Yes mommy!" He nods and transform into a small frame size, gray wolf.

"I wonder if you would ever accept me in the real world as your mate."

"I try everyday not to."

"Is your love for Camila that strong that it's worth losing everything?" "Can you really feel nothing for me, Randi?" She asks while lifting her hand to my face. Her fingers glide across my skin leaving chills up and down my spine.

"You don't understand."

I don't get how being the alpha, the strongest one in the pack, how I could be so weak. I could barely think straight with her so close. I needed to be away from her. Opening my eyes again, I push her hand away and move a few steps backwards, trying to create as much distance as possible.

"No, Randi you don't understand."

A new voice that was much deeper could be heard and out walks Zayne from behind a tree. He was dressed in all white, with his hands in his pocket, a common gesture of his.

"Zayne?"

"Alpha." He bows down

I watch as Zayne gazes at Leah and she smiles back at him.

"I have to give it to you bro, I'm truly amazed at how you can resist your mate in the real world and here also. You really are strong will, but nevertheless the biggest idiot I've ever known."

"You'll do well to hold your tongue brother. I'm still the alpha."

"But not for long. If you continue to resist your mate in this world, there will be nothing your wolf can do to survive. If your wolf dies Randi you do know your position as alpha will be over? Even if the absence of your wolf doesn't kill you then the depression will surely do it. Then who would be in control and who would protect Leah and the rest of the pack?"

Soon I could feel my wolf becoming irritated; a growl escapes from deep inside my soul.

I swiftly charge at him, but we stop in our tracks, there in the distance stood my wolf atop a large rock in an erect position ready to attack.

"Randi Auden Wolfe" it spoke telepathically.

"Because you have continuously defied our laws, I have come to give you a final warning from the ancestors."

I look around only to discover that I was all alone, Leah and Zayne had vanished from my side. I turn back to my wolf and to my surprise I see them standing underneath the rock while they both held the small child by the hand.

My wolf speaks with authority. "We shall break the connection with your mate."

I glare in disbelief at what I was hearing and immediately looked to Leah and the child.

I realized then what price I would pay, if the connection was broken.

"You will no longer share the bond."

"What will happen to Leah and the child.....?"

"Once you give your consent to give up Leah and your son, then you shall be reunited with Camila and your position as alpha will cease, and severing our bond. No amount of intimate affection from your beloved Camila will fill the void you will feel from the loss of your mate. You shall live the remaining years of your life in regret and pain."

I shout, with my fist clenched in a ball. "You would do this to me? Give me the one thing I fucking want but take everything else away!"

I begin to laugh a dark and tasteless laugh. I take in Leah and Auden. Would I really be selfish and deny this boy the pleasure of actually existing outside this dream?

Even if Camila could bare me a son it would not be the same.

I didn't care how disappointed the ancestors were with me. I only cared about my selfish needs and not how loving one person could affect everything around me.

This debate with me went on for a few moments until I decided to swallow my pride.

"As alpha I cannot consent to this." I pause and choose my words wisely. "As alpha I will finally take responsibility and even if I don't feel anything for the girl, I will do as you and the ancestors' advised. And accept her as my mate."

I could tell my wolf was pleased, by the way his ears twitched at my words.

If you chose this path you can no longer be with Camila." He presses.

I simply nod.

"Daddy!" Auden escapes from Leah's grip and runs to me. Now on my knees I open my arms engulfing him into a hug. Auden returns to the arms of Leah and I stand back.

"I'll see you one day, Okay?" I whisper looking into his eyes.

"You've made the right decision Randi." Zayne says but he doesn't smile."

"Are you ready?"

"Can I wake now?" I ask. With both happiness and regret, my wolf howls.

"Word of advice brother," Zayne says." "Try to be understanding when you see Leah and me standing around your bed. We're part of the reason why you're here."

I didn't understand what he meant

A sharp pain runs through my body and to my brain almost like a brain freeze. I holler out and drop to the ground holding my head. Everything was shaking. My vision was getting spottier and fading in and out, but the last thing I remember seeing before drifting into complete darkness were Leah and my son.
