After taking a few bites of Cathy's homemade biscuits, I grabbed the basket of food for the watchmen off the kitchen counter and headed out the back door. The morning air was a pleasant change, from my stuffy bedroom; it felt good when the cool morning breeze touched my face. I miss it, being outdoors. The past three weeks I've been trying to avoid going outside because of that fateful night with the alpha. Other than doing my daily chores around the house, I've been cooped up in my room.

Finally reaching the patrol station, I blew out a sigh of relief. These guys were jerks. Werewolves never like to be compared to humans, but honestly I couldn't tell the difference.

When spotting me the two watchmen began to walk towards me.

"Well if it ain't the alpha's mate." the one name Tehran sarcastically said. The other watchman Kent shook his head. "Man, you didn't hear what happen?"

Tehran faked confusion, "No what happened?" "I heard he rejected her."

Tehran gasps "What, Really?" "Dude isn't it obvious look at her, she's pathetic."

Kent began giving reasons, he starts counting with his fingers, 1; she's a fucking human," "2; she's a fucking human, 3; she's a fucking human!!!"

Immediately I spoke in defense of myself, asking. "Why would you make fun of me?" Are you forgetting that this pathetic human just brought you breakfast? "You two are such jerks," I say. It's none of your business anyway!" I angrily tossed the food on the ground and walked proudly away. I could hear their mocking laughter, from behind me. Tears began to flow down my face, as I got further away from patrol station.

I wish I wasn't so pathetic. Why was I even crying? Everything they said was true. Alpha Randi did reject me and I should just accept it. I'll never be fully accepted by the pack. I was a human, a weak, pathetic, human.

I ran back to the house and slammed the door. Cathy poked her head out from the kitchen. "What have I told you about slamming the door?" "I'm sorry," I replied.

She must have noticed my puffy red eyes because she darted out from behind the kitchen door.

"I'm ok," I say. "Oh, you know you can't lie to me young lady, besides your face always becomes red and puffy, when you cry."

She reached over and gave me a big hug, and within minutes I started to calm down. I really wish I could tell her about everything, but somehow I don't think a she would understand.

"Come help me in the kitchen. That seems to always cheer you up when you're down." she said.
