Leah POV

I could hear beeping sounds that seemed to get louder and louder, as I awaken. Light suddenly floods my vision as my eyes slowly split open. Everything seemed blurry but slowly became clear again.

Where was I? I slowly turn my head and look around the dimmed room. Turning to the right I notice a heart monitor and wires that were connected to it. I follow the cord and it leads to something that was clipped onto my finger. Was I in a hospital? I try to lift up, but it only caused pain. A loud booming noise comes from the adjacent room. Moments later the door creeps open and I pretend to be asleep. I could hear someone walking and stopping at the bottom of the bed. The bed sinks in as pressure is applied by someone sitting at the edge of it.

"I know you're awake."

My eyes flash open at the familiar voice.

"Zayne!" I jump up and hug him, burying my face into his chest. His arms wrap around me tightly.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you." He whispers in my ears. I shake my head, "Don't worry about me; I'm just glad you're OK. The pack needs you."

Zayne facial expression "What is it?" I ask grabbing at his hand. He says nothing but slightly turns his head to the door. He turns back to me and it just happens. It was so fast I didn't have to time to react. Zayne's lips smashed against mine and they lingered then.

He pulls away slowly.

"I'm glad you're alright. Go back to sleep... good night." My fingertips trace around my lips. Why would he kiss me?

Wasn't the plan only to make alpha Randi jealous when he was around?

I lay back down and my thoughts go back to the events of tonight. It wasn't an angel that saved me it must have been Zayne that grabbed me out of the water and now he kisses me. I was now sudden if the connection didn't break because of Randi it would because of Zayne.
